Feature request to the Sigil function 'Generate ncx guide for EPUB 2 readers':
When an author is present in the EPUB 3 metadata, then also add author name to the toc.ncx as <docAuthor>?
The title is added like this, so adding the author a well might be useful? maybe? (haven't checked if any readers show actually shows author info though ... and the world has probably moved to EPUB3 so... this request comes 5 years to late - hehe

)

And since EPUB3 metadata allows multiple authors, multiple titles, and refines on refines, what would you put there? No epub3 reader is even going to parse the ncx, and no epub2 reader takes author information from anyplace other than the opf metadata as far as I can tell.

See this older thread (from 11 years ago) for a similar discussion and explanation that epub only supports a required subset of the older DTBook ncx spec.
