I also definitely recall that Nickel had much smaller line-spacing when they first introduced it and that one of the early updates caused it to balloon.

As it's a Kobo installed font, it's been obfuscated and cannot be edited.

My two Claras and LibraH2O finally received their OTA update.

Only minor inconvenience: I'm using the large print mode (140%). On the Claras this pushes the "Advanced" button in the Font box all the way off the right edge of the screen. On the Libra, in Landscape mode, it's visible. Turn off the large print in the Clara, and it's visible.

Everything else in the Font box adjusts; the +/- bars and the Justification buttons stay on the screen.

Yes, but now it's huge in kepubs, while it's merely largish in epubs.

Note I don't use the Nickel font. I just tried it because of the reports here.

I suppose the resemblance is minimal - just the squarishness.
I haven't yet upgraded the firmware. The 4.30 firmware and patch won't bold Lexia Dama for some odd reason.

It may have to be fixed with FontForge, because Kobos are much fussier about such things than Kindles. I fixed all my fonts when I bought my first Kobo.

I fixed both the names and the weight in FontForge, as some fonts had incorrect internal names and wouldn't display correctly.

I'm so grateful for all the invaluable advice and modding our wise gurus share here. Patching, font info, Kobo drivers in Calibre... no idea what I would do without all this stuff. It's a treasure trove.
