I wouldn't call it Uncollected because that term seems to be reserved for Collections view. I would use Unclassified or something.

I'm not doing that; it's over 1000 books. I've kind of reconciled myself to filtering by Collections when I want to browse through collections and removing the filter when I want to see everything, and filtering to unread when I want to just see my unread books. That way I can interact with everything in list view. Just...more playing with filters and sorts when I want to find a new book to read rather than my old methodology of just paging through something static. It may motivate me to remove the downloaded "not now" books from my device, though.

Return to Library. In the upper left hand corner under the Search dialog box is 3 lines with little circles on them. This is the filtering menu. Select the 3 lines and then select the bubble that says "Collections" under Type. Then your Library will show your Collections and nothing else. Open up a Collection and the items within will show in List view.

Found a new issue that I'm hoping is just the firmware (though I didn't sort by author with the previous UI so I can't be sure). When I download all my books and sort by author most of them are fine; there are a dozen or so that show up at the bottom with no author information. If I remove the download the title goes back to where it should be grouped with the author's other works. But downloading again sends it right back to the end. Ugh!

I don't know if I'm just not remembering things right, but my battery definitely depletes A LOT faster than it did before this UI update.

I'm a heavy reader, but charging every few days now instead of weekly is kinda annoying me. There was one time last week when I had to accompany my grandma to her physical therapy, and I found my Kindle at less than 20%.

This is not new: I’ve seen this with previous firmware versions. It won’t show up in search results when searching by Author either.

And as you have discovered, if you remove the download, Author re-appears, search works etc.

Thank you! I’ve side-loaded the offending books so I can stop obsessing about it and perhaps get back to actually reading.

Its either recent, so collections are mixed in with the books and series groupings or all collections, including those not starred but no books outside of it.

Guess I have to get used to a new way to display my stuff. It is what it is. Compared how we started with the first Kindle the K1 and no sorting of any kind really, I'll take it. I usually get used to it quickly and as long as I can find my books I just go on reading.
Looks good so far. Haven't looked at everything yet though. Busy reading my first Agatha Christie in english

I'm missing this as well. Also, before if something was in a collection it wouldn't show in the library. Now they do show in library which to me defeats the purpose of a collection somewhat. I really miss the starred collections first followed by everything else. I also miss the dots that showed how long a book is. I often decide what to read based on how long it is.

Found another more serious effup on 5.14 2. My downstairs neighbor is a voracious book reader. She has a Paperwhite 2 (5th or 6th) edition. So I helped her order a new PW 11TH Gen 2021. All well and good..then the new interface loaded. The interface font is SMALLER then the font on her old PW. YES, she can increase it for reading, but not for finding out what to read!! (She has Macular Degeneration). I called support, and they are supposedly going to fix it.
Yeah sure.
I'll believe that when they fix the bug I reported in November!!!

I don’t mind the latest firmware and new home page, then again I seldom see the home page. I too have macular degeneration and I have no issues with the library but I only keep the books I am reading at the time on my Kindle. I see no need to have more than about 6 to 8 books downloaded. And I read an average to 90 books a year.

But my neighbor is 96, and has her reading font set at about 2-3 spots under the largest. She has to use a magnifier..on her Kindle to read the titles in LIST. At least in the old interface, the titles were larger. I've got near focusing issues too. (had glaucoma surgery which ended up with cataract surgery) so I now need readers. and yes, the font size is now smaller in the Interface menu than the previous one. I really wish they had given us a Choice on interfaces..rather than dumping this new one on everyone. I'd choose to stay on the old one. Btw..can you still choose which Font you want to use? I haven't seen that option anymore.

Inside the books, you can still change the font. Press on the top part of the page, then aA. It has all the font/page settings.

VoiceView (screen reader built in to Kindle) might be of some help in these cases. Using it, you can have it read out the many parts of the UI that use small text (or are just represented with an icon). Even if they make book listings use large text in some future update, they cannot make text larger everywhere, so many features like dictionary lookup will remain essentially inaccessible without the screen reader.

Having played with VoiceView, I’m impressed by how much of the Kindle is accessible without any visual feedback. I’ve only tried it a little bit since the UI changes, but it seemed to work just as well as before.
