I'm watching Servant of the People starring Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Youtube. It is also on Netflix. It ran 2015-2019. Zelenskyy stars as the president of Ukraine. He ran to be the actual president of Ukraine in 2019 and won with 73% of the vote.

![]() I'm now binging How to Get Away With Murder - was originally repelled by, but now fascinated by a repellent cast of completely FU characters that can apparently pass law school exams whilst running amok in the service of a sociopathic lawyer. |

Tonight I watched two movies, both on Netflix, both horror movies.
First was The Unholy. Which was okay, a bit messy though I can't say exactly why I got that impression. The second movie was Aura/The Exorcism of Karen Walker. Which wasn't good. The acting was bad and while it's set in the UK most of the actors, who are supposed to be all British had American accents. Some actors had accents that changed during the duration of the movie. If you're in the mood for a not too complicated horror movie The Unholy could be an option. I don't recommend Aura/The Exorcism of Karen Walker (I've learned not to trust horror movies that have their title changed at some point). |

There have been increasingly few programs, new programs, that I can tolerate. Maybe it's them; maybe it's me (mostly, I think it's a combination of both, due to reasons I shan't discuss here) but most new shows, I make it through half an episode, MAYBE and that's it. Some shows, like the Netflix shows, start out good-to-great and then, OMG, they taper off to unwatchable. Umbrella Academy, started off super and then Moses on a Pony, Season 2 was just intolerably dimwitted and...well. October Faction, again, started off terrific and within a few shows, I would have been happy to kill their kids, myself. No compunction, no hesitation. I mean, who on earth actually puts up with that mouthy crap from their teens and apologizes to them, for their jobs, etc.? If that's how kids are raised today, no wonder they're all so screwed up. The Order--again, started out good, fairly cute. But Season 2 was like Season 2 of The Alienist---"Let's do all girls, all the time! Make Women everything!" and both shows were ruined. I started out really liking The October Faction, but they'd killed off most of my liking within 3 episodes and by the last one, I was rooting for the monsters to kill the teens and very possibly, their parents, too. It's not just supernatural shows, either--it's true for everything. The whole "Hill House" series/group (?) on Netflix. The Hill House one was fine, but then the others...yuck. Using the same cast, the same ensemble, over and over--that's a gimmick and it rarely works (I remember when A&E did that with The Nero Wolfe series, and it suffered for it, too), and they simply felt miscast. It's hard to find shows that hold up, any longer. Most of them just...either suck from the jump, or have promise initially and then fall off to the pits. I don't know if it's just that I've lived this long, so everything is a retread, or if putting the accountants in charge of approving shows means that nothing innovative or creative gets approved, or...what. But it's hard to find anything with any pop any longer. Embarrassingly, I find myself watching stuff from 20-50-60 years ago, out of sheer boredom and irritation. Hitch |

I liked Eureka, but with Warehouse 13, I thought the two agents were difficult to like. He was a dimwit, mostly--your basic musclehead--and her? Yikes, to this day if I see her in something, I pass it by. Just couldn't warm up to her at all. The people in the office--what was his name? As with many shows, the supporting cast was better than the "stars." Quote:
I'm considering a Mission:Impossible show run from the 60's. ;-) Hitch |

The Love Boat just started playing yesterday on one of our free to air channels. I remember watching them as a kid. I have started recording it and we'll binge watch at a later date.

We recently finished S2&3 of Ice Cold Murders (Italian) and S1-S3 of Beck (Swedish). Now on Jo, weirdly set in Paris but entirely in English - no one except the main character even has a French accent. |

I've started watching The Chelsea Detective - the Brits have absolute genius in creating pairings in detective series - completely different personalities that somehow mesh well - in this case veteran actor Adrian Scarborough and Sonita Henry.

Dexter Season 2. Who doesn't appreciate a series where a serial killer is the lead character?
