Does anyone know of a rubberised case for the Kindle PW5 similar to the Iphone shockproof cases? I'd love the extra grip this could give, as well as the protection, without having to deal with the weight of a standard flip-case, as I have the opposite problem of many here and find it easier to hold my device when it's not in a heavy cover.

Thanks. I found a couple of similar style cases as well. It's a pity there doesn't seem to be a non-transparent version. A basic, black silicone shockproof back-case seemingly doesn't exist, but I wish it did.

I've had a Reader for not long over 15 years. I've had a book style cover on every Reader. never a sleeve or screen protector. I find the cover makes the Reader nicer to hold.

Until I got older and more fumbly, I used sleeves. Now I use cases - even a thin case like a Flintie will work unless you are tossing your unit into a backpack. You need something more protective in a backpack or if your cat walks on your reader. On my Nook, I used a plastic cover that clung to the front. It slightly reduced the sharpness of letters.

I ordered this strap. It makes holding my kindle easier. But I'm just worried the tension would make the screen snap or something. Should I be worried? It doesn't feel tight.
A popsocket would be too bulky. I hope this doesn't ruin my kindle in any sort of way ![]() |

![]() The one I use is the one linked below - I did try another brand for my Oasis, but the plastic "padding" on the ends didn't seem as solid and in fact left a tiny (almost invisible, but definitely there) dent on the Oasis. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/produc...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In my bag, I use this sleeve - which isn't the cheapest version available, but I've had mine for four years now and it's still in perfect condition, so I'd recommend it. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MSY...ing=UTF8&psc=1 |

Very simple. If I want to carry it in my bag, I just put it into its box. Box perfectly protects it from damages.

Of course. I have a PW3, its box is relatively small as compared to the one provided for the Kindle Keyboard.

I've always kept ereaders in covers, it adds to their aesthetic appeal. My first ereader, the Sony, came in a thin faux leather case. This reader had a fragile screen. Each time I had to answer the door, or the phone (before I had a mobile), go to the loo, or put the kettle on, I needed to quickly put down the ereader and feel safe that none of my tribe of cats would stand on the screen. I bought an armoured cover eventually!
Even now, with only one cat, people come to the door - often with deliveries - so I need to quickly put the ereader down, rush to the door before he delivers to my neighbour for safe-keeping (I don't get on with one side) while feeling secure that my ereader won't be damaged by claws or heavy paws. Everyone has moments when they need to stop reading and attend to something else; it's dangerous to leave an ereader with a naked screen to be trodden on by child, cat, husband, or whoever. I love pretty covers, they add to the readers appeal. As for postage and packing, the OP seems to be getting a really bad deal. I recently bought a cover for my new Libra 2, which took two days to arrive from Amazon. It's Chinese made but not delivered on a slow boat from China. The postage cost nothing: it was one of those "buy Amazon-sold items to the value of £20 and get free delivery," deals, so I threw in a few things I normally buy for my cat, such as paper plates for feeding her from. I'm sure other countries have this 'buy items over the price of . .' thing. There are lots of padded sleeves available online for ereaders. I'm glad the OP has found something they're happy with. I have the cheapest kindle so I don't feel too bad about banging it up a bit. But I might change my mind when I upgrade. I kinda want a Paperwhite 5. |

![]() Ironically the last covers I got/used were for Basic Kindles and PW1/3. PW4 and PW5 feel robust enough to me that I don’t worry about them. |

When buying this, I thought the pw5 would be much more expensive (I think I saw the signature edition's price). I had only seen basic and pw4 listed when looking for Kindles. If I'd known, I would've waited a month more to get a pw5 instead. But by the time I'm read for an upgrade, I'm sure Amazon would've released a newer version. |
