Same here. I think I'd prefer permanent DST, but I'd take permanent Standard Time if the choice was between that and sticking with what we have now.

For all those driving in front of me: first the turn-signal, then the brakes. Write it on the chalkboard one bajillion times.

Stopping at a red light, entering the intersection on the green light, hitting your brakes and then your turn signal should be considered cause for justifiable verminicide. |

Agreed on all counts! I'm also throwing in "hopping out of the car at an intersection (just as the light turns green) to remove ones cardigan" for good measure.

Seriously??? That's a thing?? By all means, beneath dignity, respect, or even Canadian tolerance. Evil is just evil.

I don't remember the make of the car. The incident happened to me just a few days ago. I did manage to pound my forehead on the steering wheel in dismay, though.

The worst bit of driving I saw was on the Upper Level's highway in North Vancouver a while back. The driver was driving over the speed limit and breast-feeding her child at the same time.

My wife recently traded in her Kia for a used BMW. Our son said "You're a BMW driver now? Does that mean you have to stop using turn signals?" Quote:
Wow. You win. But I have to ask: While that seems like about the worst thing to do while driving, how was her actual driving? |

From what I saw, she had issues staying in her lane. I noticed her at the top of the cut as we were heading towards the Lonsdale exit as she drifted into my lane when we going around the curve. There are quite a few people out there for whom cutting the corners on a curve seems to be their normal driving technique so I didn't think that much about it. A short while later, she was passing me and that's when I looked over and realized what she was doing. One of those oh, scat! moments.

I once passed a guy on the freeway holding a book on the steering wheel and reading. I matched speeds for a while because I wanted to witness a page turn. He clearly had a lot of practice at it (it involved both hands and a knee)!

Am I petty. Probably.
Some guy chained his bicycle to my bicycle earlier today. Instead of trying to find him I used the bolt cutters to cut the flimsy padlock. Since the chain was the only lock on the bike I didn't want to leave it unprotected (there's a notorious bike thief in the city center). So I used some zip ties to lock the chain again. I zip tied the six links on either end each with two zip ties (so twelve in total). I pulled them nice and tight, too. The police came by, thinking I was trying to steal a bicycle, when I showed them the pictures and they saw what I did they had to laugh. My neighbour, his mother own a cafe, across the street saw what I did and send a message out on the WhatsApp group of the people owning/working for the cafe's and restaurants in our neighbourhood to not lend out any cutting tools tonight. Mid evening I get a message from my neighbour that the bike owner got really pissed, tried to borrow something to cut the zip ties from multiple businesses, which they didn't do. Apparently his meltdown was very entertaining. Don't mess with someone who has access to zip ties. |

What was his reason for chaining his bike to your bike?

No matter what I tried it wouldn't unlock. Thinking there was ice in the lock I crossed the road to a Canadian Tire and bought lock de-icer. Still no go. I then looked at the key. I'd grabbed the keys to BDAE-203 and was trying to unlock BDAE-204! No wonder the key didn't fit. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk |
