A good plot, albeit a well used one, and decent acting across the board. Extremely violent and graphic, so avoid this if you are easily upset or nauseated by such antics!
I actually liked the show better than the 3 books I've read - I'm going to give the series another try. I think the show has been renewed for a 2nd season.

I also like doing a complete season on one book - Expanse is done that way too. Much as I like Bosch, I think it would have been better that way than mixing plots from multiple books. Maybe the early Bosch books are too old for that to work though.

Yesterday my sister and I finally finished the last couple of episodes of Foundation. Now I want to read the books!

We need to find a new series to watch together. For now we've decided on trying Succession the next time I'm staying at her place.

I watched Copenhagen on Prime - Daniel Craig is a surprisingly good Heisenberg. It centers on a 1941 meeting between Heisenberg and Bohr in occupied Denmark that may have been pivotal in delaying Hitler's development of an atomic bomb. The premise is that Heisenberg could have easily developed the bomb, and it's unclear why he didn't.

Also finished the 4 seasons of Bron Broen - seems like I've been back and forth across that bridge at least 500 times! Fantastic series with a surprisingly satisfying ending. Saga Noren is easily one of the most memorable characters on TV anywhere.

Now we're through S1 of Holby Blue, a 2007 British police series, lots of personal drama - similar to 19-2 and Red Rock.

I watched this on HBO in 2019. It led me to read some books about Chernobyl. I was reading one of them when the pandemic closings started here and then I wasn't as interested.

I have been watching The Gilded Age on HBO (it is also on HBO Max) and like it despite all the trash talk about it. I have also been watching Around the World in 80 days and 2nd season of All Creatures Great and Small on PBS.

I watched S11 E6 of Vera a few days ago. (Britbox) I love that series.

Also watching the documentary We Need to Talk about Cosby on Showtime. I had forgotten about how wildly popular he was in the 1960s-90s. It goes in depth into all the positive and negative about his career. He had a Spanish Fly stand-up comedy (and on vinyl record) routine. It was as if he was leaving bread crumbs all through his career about drugging women. They showed him being interviewed by Larry King talking about Spanish Fly and how great it was. There have been 3 episodes on so far of 4.

Just finished series 2 (the final series) of 'War of The Worlds' wih Gabriel Byrne. A very dark take on alien invasion, that borrows very little from H.G.Wells original novel. I liked it, particularly the climax, which I found logical and fair; many folk on various forums disagreed with that and hated the ending!

S1 of Holby was OK; S2 got way too soapy. Marginally likeable characters devolved into insufferable jerks.

Next up is Sandhamm Murders based on Viveca Sten's books

Last night I finished Dopesick. Which was a very good, but very depressing dramatization of the rise of Oxycontin, the push from the manufacturer on doctors to prescribe, the lies about how it wasn't addictive and the subsequent investigations from the law enforcement.

I'm not quite sure yet what series to start/continue next. So tonight I'll probably watch one or two movies.

I started Wynonna Earp from the start again. Years ago I watched the first two seasons and loved it, but somehow never continued.

Last night I watched the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Netflix, which wasn't really my thing. And I started to watch the documentary about Boeing, also on Netflix, but had to stop because of a family thing. So I'll continue that tonight, plus watch the latest episodes of Kindred Spirits and Ghost Hunters.

Sandhamm was pretty good but only 2 hours.

Then watched another Swedish show Modus - first season not bad but 2nd season was a train wreck.

Next I think we might try Law & Order U.K..

Started watching Silk - set in the UK criminal courts - following a female barrister's trials as she applies to be a QC - Maxine Peake plays the lead.

Silk had a terrific cast. I hadn't seen Tom Hughes before and really liked his character in the first Silk season. Neil Stuke was great throughout.

Agree - a great cast. You watch enough of these British shows with large ensemble casts and you start recognizing actors in both major and minor roles. I think most of the Silk cast has appeared in Vera. And it seems every British actor has appeared in at least one Poirot or Marple episode.

Yes--loved that. Was disappointed when it disappeared. Stuke was particularly good and I think the entire show would have been far poorer without him.

I've been watching various things over the last couple of weeks. I finally finished the first season of Blindspot. Back when it was released I started watching, but, despite enjoying it, I never finished.

I also watched the first season of The Leftover. I'm not quite sure what to think of it.

This weekend I watched DMZ on HBO, which I also enjoyed.

And finally I also saw The Adam Project on Netflix, which was a fun movie, where Ryan Reynolds plays the same role he always plays.

I think this week I'll focus on movies, I'm not sure if I will use my randomizer app to pick what I'm going to watch, or if I'm going to pick a theme/genre each night or just watch what I feel like watching. Tonight I'll probably start with a couple of horror movies on Netflix.

Streaming all of the series 'Grimm'. Silly monster fest that tickles my funnybone.
U.S. Cop finds out he is a 'Grimm' and can see real life werewolves, vampires etc. But of course, he cannot receal his abilities to his work partner, or his live-in girlfriend. Daft but a harmless way to pass forty five minutes at a time!
