E-book Viewer shows series index as arabic numerals but not always
In the viewer, if I click on "Show book metadata" the series index is shown as 177.5 if it is not an integer number but as CLXXVII if the index is 177.
I realize, that the Roman number system had no concept of a decimal point, it only handled fractions. 1/2 would be S so 177.5 would be CLXXVIIS in Roman Numerals. I do not think anybody implemented proper conversion of decimal numbers into proper Roman Numerals. I would like all numbers to show up equally, so I would like to know, whether there is a way to have all Numbers with Arabic Numerals even for Integers. I searched the viewer forum for "roman numerals" and "series index" and found nothing. Thanks in advance for your help. |

Hello theducks, this does not solve my problem. This is only how hte books are displayed in the calibre main program. I changed that long ago. I use my own templete.xhtml to have the jackets inserted into the epub files use Arabic numerals instead of Roman numerals.
My problem is with the E-bookl viewer from calibre, which I use to read books from my calibre library on my computer. That is why I posted this question in this viewer forum and not in the general forum. So to make my question clear: In calibre (main program) everything is set to Arabic numerals and that works fine also in the book details. Also the metadata jacket page inserted into epub files shows series numbers as Arabic numerals. But not the E-book viewer. Attached is a screenshot of a book I created to test this problem. The title is Test Book 177 and the series index is also 177, but as you can see displayed in Roman numerals. |
