Amen! Amen! A newer KA1 model would be ideal.

I still love my Sage, battery notwithstanding. It's my main reader now. In my use case, I can get by almost a week on a single charge and that's more than enough for me. I do like my Libra 2 too, but the Sage is noticeably faster and the screen is almost as good.

I don't particularly care about resale values. If I manage to resell for a decent price, good; if not, so be it. I don't buy my devices to get a good resale price for them down the road. I buy them to enjoy them, and I'm enjoying my Sage.

I would go for an 8" Aura H2O with IR touch and a faster processor.

No IR touch, please. And the rectangular shape without buttons is an automatic no-buy for me.

The IR touch means the clearest screen possible for that screen type. Plus, I never had any problem with the IR touch on my H2O.

I have a button compromise, bluetooth buttons.

I know, but it also means anything at all touching the screen will change something. I have 3 cats. Just no. Capacitive is fine.

My sentiments exactly. And I find the display to be stunning, IMHO.

I have a pug who does shed a lot. I've not had a problem when I was using my H2O.

Because the battery usage is too high. I did like the larger display though. But even in a few years time, the resale value will be very bad. Its better to get rid of it right now.

In the mean time - until there is a better alternative available - I will use a Libra 2.

Ordered one today and it will arrive later this evening.

Kobo - if you read this, please make a nice 8"-9" available next time (Carta 1400 ?) without the battery problems and without notetaking stylus. Just a device to read epubs.

Forget note taking. (That will never work properly and it is too expensive to R&D compared to eg Apple products.). Make sure that it uses fast internal memory and storage. USB 3.1 or better. If possible, use a 14 nm processor (or better).
Get a Forma while they still lasts new in stock. That is the exakt reader you describe above.

Then wait until Kobo releases a "Forma 2".

They may never do that. People are still waiting for a Kindle Voyage 2, an Aura One 2, a Mini 2...

You never know. They might as well, just like Libra 2.

But in case they do not... I just ordered my third Forma as future backup.

I've come to realize I'm eventually going to buy a Sage. I think I'm at the last stage of acceptance that started with anger when it was announced in September. Would be great to see more competition in the 8 inch ereader market (Oasis 4).

An 8" Kobo Aura H2O (300dpi) would be a Kobo I would buy.

I want the new Kobo Unicorn, the 8" screen model (or even 9" screen) with the "normal" book shape and with buttons along with a way to turn off the touch system if one so chooses, the latest/best screen at least as good as the Aura One and with a Fintie easel case or clone thereof.

Curious if the power cover has actually been decently available and I just missed it. Seems most places in the US/Cad either list it but it’s unavailable or don’t list it at all.

I’ll generally defend Kobo a decent amount, but we’re now about six months out from the Sage being announced and AFAIK there have been few if any power covers for sale despite Kobo insisting they’re coming soon.
