Out of the blue, kobo sent me a $6 gift card this morning. The email stated that it was a special promo because of my recent purchase of a gift card. I thought at first it was a scam because I was unable to redeem it, but customer care said it was legit and gave me the $6. Has this happened to anyone else?

Wow! Thanks for the heads up. I usually ignore emails from Kobo because I”m never interested in books they think I might like. I got it too.

Noting that the promotional value needs to be used by April 28 and hoping that Kobo knows enough to subtract from that first, but I’m not entirely confident.

I got it too. It says it’s good from last December through this April. I never got around to calling about my missing 6.00 from the December promo so I think this might be it, maybe somehow swept up with the more recent version (this is Kobo, after all).

In Canada. Got my 20$ credit from spending 75$ on a gift card. Didn't get it until Feb 10, but it's there. It came as a promotional egift card from "Kobo Inc." and says it's good until April 2022. Not sure if the promotional aspect means it'll expire in my account credit or if that's how long you have to claim it.
