It i just that I find it easier and more ergonomic to use physical buttons on the Forma. I also find that the wedge on the Forma gives me a more relaxed and ergonomic way to hold the reader than the KA1. The KA1 is not a bad device (except my issues with the backlight), but the Forma is for me just a so much better device. |

Speaking of the Forma, someone on reddit posted a long-term review I thought worth re-posting here while on the subject:

I wasn’t going to buy one because my Libra 1 was just fine. What prompted me to buy was the dark mode. It’s so much easier on my eyes in dark mode when reading at night. I do have a Kindle Paperwhite with dark mode but I prefer the Kobo. I can’t believe I’m saying this because a few years ago I was hating on them. LOL But I like the options of showing the book title on the bottom and the chapter title on the top among other reasons. I can get library books on it vs the Kindle where that isn’t an option in Canada.
Now that I have it I think I prefer the look and feel of it vs the Libra 1. I didn’t think it was going to be that much better but I do think that it is. Plus I redeemed a bunch of credit card points for gift cards to buy it. It cost me under $50. Very pleased! Last edited by Shopaholic; 01-29-2022 at 05:58 PM. I'm hoping for a Kobo smaller than Clara, like Inkpalm 5 mini ereader handheld phone size which will probably get more usage than my busy Clara.

I'm someone who felt strongly about the difference having the warm light makes in creating a more realistic looking page. I don't use the warm light to make the screen orange, but to take it softer white range. What's been surprising me recently is that I'm not missing the warm light on the affected KA1 like I imagined I would. It's got me considering getting an Elipsa down the road when before I had dismissed the idea because of it's lack of warm light. |

Hopefully that is had very lacking quality control. There haven't been complaints about the Sage or Libra 2 (that I remember anyway).

Newbie here! I am trying decide on one the kobos. I wear reading glasses. My question is which is best for reading in a darker room and setting. As well reading at night in a darker room. I also need something with larger font lol (eyes). I also prefer a larger screen for obvious reasons.
Thanks |

I’ve had a lot of readers including Kindles and none of them had that problem. It’s in the bottom left corner. So far the new one seems ok. I read in dark mode in bed and it’s really noticeable. |

I picked up a Sage. I feel like with the harsh curve, they made it not nearly as nice to hold as my Forma. Also - I've never had a Kobo device where the buttons FEEL good to use. Forma has mushy, my Libra has mushy, and now the Sage has buttons that don't always work, have a little mush, and oddly don't consistently feel the same every button press. Say what you will about the Oasis design, but the buttons ok that hardware are top notch.
The screen is pretty darn great on the Sage. Uniform light here. |
