Funny thing is the reboots are better when the device is plugged in a charger while booting.
That's most definitely NanoClock unearthing a weird Libra 2 specific kernel/epd bug, c.f., https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/8414 for more details (and no fix because I don't have the device ).

Since this version I noticed several USB errors during connection with my PC. The warnings were about a possible corrupt drive, after connection. No real problems were noticed. Kobo DB was ok. It always happens after the sending via calibre of epubs, disconnecting, and then reconnecting again to update the DB. Noticed on Clara HD and Libra H2O.

Are you running Nickelmenu? Lots of reports in this thread but lack of specific configurations which would be helpful.

Yes. I use NM. But I think NickelMenu has absolutely nothing to do with it, it's a bug of this particular firmware.

Haven't noticed any strangeness with a patched firmware on my Clara HD.

Gonna wait just a bit longer for more reports. I really want to keep sideloaded fonts.

In all my Claras, sideloaded fonts work with kepubs, but not with epubs or anything rendered with Adobe's engine. Even KOReader's test font document, which is an html with hardcoded font family names and is rendered by Access, shows everything in Georgia.

Even though i do not use koreader and epub?

If it is really nanoclick, this is unfortunate as nanoclock is very practical utility

@Deobulakenyo: The issue was just for context. What you describe is eerily similar to the update patterns causing issues there, *and* your workaround is also similar!

Being familiar with both projects and Mk. 7 EPDC quirks, I can fairly confidently say, that, yes, it is in fact the same issue .

Thank you for the info. Is uninstalling nanoclock enough or a factory reset is required?

Edit: I uninstalled nanoclock and now my Libra 2 boots and reboots fine. I hope nanoclock gets fixed. I really like that utility.

The two sideloaded fonts I added to my Clara HD are working. How many sideloaded fonts do you have and how big are the font files? For anyone where the sideloaded fonts are not working, are you using lots of fonts? Or have larger fonts?

I just noticed that I can tap on the battery icon while reading to show the battery percentage without going back to the home page. Yay!

This is not new to this firmware, it works the same way in the 4.30.18838 FW and perhaps older ones too though I no longer have any kobo readers with anything older than that to test with.

Won't this update come automatically (with wifi)? Do we have to install it from the computer?

I tried it several times (epub). One time only one sl font. The other time 4 sl fonts.
It was always the same behavior. It made no difference how many fonts.
