Yes, but as you are not carrying the ereader in your pocket, you probably have plenty of space to carry a cable as well as the powerbank.
This is a matter of perceived convenience. Is it easier to handle the PowerCover or carry the external battery and cable? The advantage of the former is it is a single thing to transport but it might be heavy when reading. The advantage of the latter is that it can be used to charge other devices if needed but when reading, the weight will be lower. It is up to everyone to decide what is best for them. I suppose a question is how much weight in the PowerCover is the cover, the battery and whatever else is needed to charge the battery and hold it in the cover. Which in some ways is asking how much extra would the Sage weigh if Kobo had put this battery inside the device as well as the current battery. |

As the photo I posted earlier shows, this is not necessarily true - not awkward at all. I also do something similar when reading as a passenger in our car, put the battery pack in the storage compartment in the door and read happily plugged in. Again not awkward at all. And as davidfor pointed out, the same unit can also charge my phone, at the same time. Good luck trying that with a battery cover.

Hello.
I bought Kobo Sage today. But there is light difference and black line on the left side of the screen. Can I return it for this reason? Is this reason for return? |

If the screen isn't clear, then you should return it. It isn't unusual for the light on the side of the buttons to be a little brighter as that is where the LEDs are. But, a black line sounds unusual and wrong and is probably a fault. Can you post a photo for us to see?

I like USB-C but not OK with the weight of the Sage. I wish the Forma hade USB-C, but otherwise it has everything I need; both light weight and 8" screen. I just ordered a Forma today to have as a backup for my current one. ![]() |

Re the power cover
Amazon.fr canceled my order today, as they weren't able to get it in stock. But I found the power cover in a local online shop for only 60€. ![]() |

A couple of days ago I got the powercover. I was expecting to be underwhelmed but find it is well designed and useful. It is not nearly as heavy as some people have suggested -- not much heavier than the normal Sage cover. The slot for the pencil is useful if you want to use the pencil (which I do). If one is reading the sage without a cover, if the power gets low it is very easy to snap it into the power cover and keep reading. The cover does not get in the way. All in all, I'm very pleased.

I charge the Kobo Sage at 5% charge and put it to sleep. Charge always shows 5%. When I turn the device on and put it to sleep again, it shows 20%. Then it shows 20% all the time. I turn it on and off again, it's 50%.
So it doesn't show the charging progress while in sleep mode or off. Is this normal? PS: I gave the numbers as an example. |

I can't see on Amazon.de if the Sage includes the stylus or not?
Argos.ie might actually be cheaper, but no indication there about the stylus. https://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stor...6%252Fdw0%253D But maybe a Forma would suit as an 8" kobo. I have a 7.8" Mars, but the Kobo (ANY version) is far better for book organisation, collections, series, annotation and getting annotation into laptop than any other brand. The only advantage of the Mars is ereader apps: Belinda Borrowbox for local Library, Google, Kindle & Kobo readers for their stores. Last edited by Quoth; 01-12-2022 at 12:27 PM. |

Hi,
I own 2 Kobo's currently, Kobo KA1, and the original Kobo H2O.. I was wondering about this new Sage. I don't need stylus, but I prefer the larger screen size. To be honest, to my older eye, the H2O |

To be honest, to my older eye, the H2O font clarity is a bit sharper/better contrast than the KA1. How is the new Sage in this regard, with the newer style screen? Thanks |
