My Libra arrived today. (The estimated time of Jan 4 was exact because of the holidays) I am very happy with it. I gave my husband my Libra H2o. (2 days until our anniversary). I like the buttons, I like the crisp screen output, it is a very excellent e-reader.

I understand. I really love the design, usage and looks of the Kobo interface.

Sounds a little bit like me;

I miss the book chapter overview status bars of old Kobo software. It showed graphically how long the different upcoming chapters where and how many left. I am sorry to see it go as a bottom staus bar function (I can get it, but with some menu presses).

That graph is right there, as always, accessible from the icons on the top of the screen when you're reading a book. It's the icon that, well, looks like the graph you're looking for, between the Aa icon and the brightness icon.

(Libra 2; latest firmware; Kepub ebook)

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to load audiobooks on the kobo libra 2 in the same way as we do with epub files, that is to say load the audiobooks without going through the official kobo store, and without using the monthly subscription. with the usb-c cable.

No, not really. Here is a thread with the discovery of some limited MP3 audio playing capabilities, but not useful for audiobooks.

i had tried the sideload method that it's on the thread and it works for me. Previously had load an audiobook on the official shop of kobo. Thanks a lot.

Thanks. Yes, I know. But in older FW you could have that as "always on display" in the bottom of each page. I liked that as it only took a glance (no button presses) to see where I was in relation to the different chapters.

So glad to hear that! I have just ordered one plus the lavender cover. Hoping my family don't notice the change from the Libra H2O.

Are you sure? When the in-book stats and other details were at the bottom, it would remember what you had last looked at. When you tapped the screen to show menubar, that was what would be shown. But, I think it always showed the navigation bar the first time after opening a book and you needed to tap for the stats.

Or do you mean the progress bar that was used in very old firmware? That had markers for the chapters. I think it was in the original firmware on the Touch, but, it was removed before firmware 3.0 (I think).

I assumed he meant the progress bar in the old firmware. I would also like to see it revived.

A query on the chips used.

Hi,

I'm a developer am keen to use the Kobo as a platform for a project, integration with an API to a DGT Chess Board and possibly others.

Goal is to ideally to get either https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Devices
Or even better
https://github.com/Kobo-InkBox/inkbox

Working on the device. I've been hunting around with google to find detail no joy so far until your post that is. If you could get us the detail of these chips that will tell me if the device will work for my plans that would be most wonderful. These projects are also a benefit to you in that they preserve the value of the device for resale 10 years from now they will still have value making resale value much higher. The Bluetooth function on Linux can be used to enable the device to be used with a wireless keyboard for say note taking.

For photos of chips: A top trick if you angle the board and place on like a book with a light on the chips become easy to photograph as in the CyberTan WC121 example below that's from my own Kobo Mini with Wifi that sadly doesn't work with the Inkbox mentioned above. I find a little zoom and a bright light does the trick.

Anyway I just the need the details of the three I've ringed. As one of them will most likely be the Wifi one.

Daniel
Thanks in advance if you help.
I will hold of a buying decision till I can learn more.
If anyone else has the answers already that would be great.
