It was absurd, how those words simultaneously alarmed him, and wakened an urge to put his head against the wall and weep. It was the delm's business to know the clan, in whole and in part.

The current delm did not know him, but he was *theirs*, and they were determined to care for him.

This is looking interesting. One believes that this is Jen Sin who is being solved for.

Oh dear, now I want them to hurry up and finish it . It already seems like we’re waiting forever for Jethri’s next story. Did Sharon mention a projected publication date?

No, or if she did, I missed it. And yes, her bout of cancer did definitely slow down their publishing schedule. But we have a collection of stories the beginning of February, and the next Jethri will be out the first week of May. But I'm pretty sure the one after that Jethri is another Jethri book. Only then will we get the one Sharon is lead on, then next mainline book, currently with the working title of Tinsori Light: the Novel. Though that will more than likely change before it is published.

ETA: Well, I looked and looked, and I'm not seeing even a turn-in date for TLN. But, in the process, I discovered that there are THREE novels under contract after Fair Trade, the Jethri book that will be out in May.

Oh dear, I didn’t realize that Sharon had had cancer; I hope she’s feeling better. I really don’t mean to sound ungrateful Given their age, and how much I enjoy retirement, I actually consider everything they publish to be an unexpected gift.

Also, I’ve noticed that there’s usually quite a lag between when they submit books, and the release date. So publication seems to have its own set of processes to work through. I guess that’s why eARCs are popular. I’ve never read one, for fear that the story will change, but it’s very tempting.

Very few changes post eARC. Usually just some typos, maybe a formatting fix, that sort of thing. But actual content -- only the most trivial changes at that point. But there's a price, and it's $15 USD for an eARC. A bit dear for me.

But I wasn't clear. There are three more books under contract after Fair Trade. The first of those is a Jethri book, the second has the working title of "Tinsori Light: The Novel" -- so it isn't a Jethri book, and I am not at all sure what the last one is.

Yes, Sharon had cancer and while the prognosis is good, she did have a lost year between the treatment and the brain-fog that came with it. As she has said, she's really just starting to be able to write more than a short story.

I'm just grateful for whatever we get. (And yes, the lead time between submission and publication is a LOT more than I was used to in the computer book business. But, of course, we used to work in parallel: writing, tech editing, and editing simultaneously. )

Lee and Miller are under contract to Baen Books for three Liaden Universe® novels after Fair Trade, which will be published in May. Those novels are:

1 The sequel to Fair Trade (title TBD) -- Steve Miller, Lead Writer

2 Tinsori Light: The Novel (better title coming along RSN) -- Sharon Lee, Lead Writer

3 A Liaden Novel to be Named Later -- Sharon Lee, Lead Writer probably? At the moment, I'm leaning toward going back to the Redlands and checking in with Padi, Tekelia, Aunt Astra, Eet, and the gang. This could change, as all things may change, and only reflect my thoughts at the moment.

I think that just about covers it.

A fun teaser. I bet you’re right; Tocohl seems like the most likely. It could also be Uncle himself, and Seignur Veeoni seems to jockey with him.

Another candidate might be Bechimo, and he is on site with her too. However, he’s hasn’t expressed any interest in research. If the field is mathematical, Aelliana is exceptionally gifted, but supposedly she and Daav are laying low and off couriering somewhere.

A wildcard guess might be Emissary Twelve. She doesn’t shy away from opinion, and could give Seignur Veeoni a run for her money. Another long shot might be that Yxtrang Academic from the old universe who was introduced, and then dropped from the story. He might have knowledge we don’t know about, and I’ve been expecting him to reappear. And going out on a limb () it could be the Tree - it seems to know everything.

Sharon Lee has posted the title for her current work in process (whose working title had been Tinsori Light: The Novel), and the published novel will be titled: Salvage Right. It's coming right along, and is sitting at around 45K words, so not quite half way there. This will be the book after the fourth Jethri novel. (And, by the way, I finished the eARC of the third Jethri novel, Fair Trade, and it's a winner. )
