If you get to the point where you can turn the reading light off, then the device should be booting to nickel. But, how are you turning the light off? The Glo HD does not have a button to do this. It is turned off through the UI. You have to tap the light icon and adjust the level using the slider.

Are you sure this is a Glo HD? That you have a Glo, and this appears to have a button for the light, makes me wonder if it is actually an Aura HD. You can use https://help.kobo.com/hc/en-us/artic...or-Kobo-tablet to check exactly what you have.

As to the screen, if it is not plugged in correctly, the device will probably boot. But, it won't be able to write to the screen. If the device is assembled correctly other than this, you might be able to navigate the screens to connect to the PC.

In fact the screen lighting doesn't work, it's just the red led that lights up when I press the "power" button. The reader dont boot and the screen dont light on.

The reader is a glo hd (serial number glohd ok)

I think that the principal problème si that the reader doesn't boot. The sd card IS not read. Thé screen does'nt work.
I will gain try to put another image (Hope thé download us good) on a New sd card ans i will see.

still no solution to not starting my kobo glo hd: before definitively thinking that the problem comes from a failure of the motherboard or of the contacts of the sd card slot, I wonder if there is has no problem with the image you sent me david, maybe it was uploaded incorrectly? could you send me another one? very big thank you in advance.

I don't have another image to send. Plenty of people have used it without issue. If that is not working for you, then it is another issue. If you wrote the card to the image correctly, and have checked everything is seated, then it suggests the device is failing in some other way. Beyond what I have suggested above, including a response to @Etough, I don't have any other ideas.

Hi,

I'm looking for an SD card image for my Kobo Glo HD.

No idea what happened, haven't used it for a while so I charged it to full, plugged it into Calibre, unplugged it and waited for it to load, then I think I powered it off. Anyway now the screen is completely blank, but it does flash twice then go back to blank when turning it on/off.

Couldn't get the double tap factory reset to work but I may be doing it wrong.

And I've always had problems with the double-tap method of doing a factory reset. If I don't get it the first time... I tried to do it at work once much to the amusement of everyone sitting around me. I'm not sure how many times I tried, but, my "comments" attracted attention.

Thanks for that davidfor, back up and running.

Turns out my sdcard was dead. Couldn't format or restore the image to it, tried on linux too and was getting I/O errors.

My bellowed kobo is dead due sd card issue,
I've taken card out but could not read it with tools recommended on the forum here.
Got new card but need image for my device .
Kind people please help.
