The main problem is that the firmware version is more important than the hardware with respect to running kindlets. Nothing running fw version >= 5.9 can run kindlets no matter how old the hardware is. There are, of course, hardware models that have never run anything less than 5.9

Hi, i've successfully JB my PW1 using all the ressource in this thread (and the other), but i've got 2 questions :
1. i'm running FW 5.4.4 :the JB Hotfix has to be run after or before installking latest firmware?
2. I cannot add books anymore (i'm using calibre). In fact, i've no errors, i can send to device, files are converted into documents/ but i cannot see them. Is this a known issue?

only to be sure: I got a new Kindle PW5 Signature Edition G001 LG with FW version 5.14.0.1. I assume there is no jailbreak for that yet, right?
