Got my Libra 2 in today! A whole 5 days ahead of the estimated delivery time. I ordered from BlueProton's amazon store, and they shipped it via USPS priority mail 2 day. Anyway, I've already made a stock image of the device (waveform 400_B035_HH0701_ED070KH3U3_VD1400-GOB_TC if anyone wants it); however, Nautilus (Ubuntu's stock file explorer) seems to think it's NTFS (see the attached screenshot), and shows a completely wrong root directory. The OS itself recognizes it as FAT32, so I'm not sure quite what the issue is. Has anyone else encountered this? I'd like to install KOReader and Plato; however, I can't with the root directory clearly being wrong. Any advice is appreciated.
Where does it say "NTFS"? The first screenshot has the filesystem type a "msdos". If anything, I'd expect that to be FAT16. Nothing in the other screenshots seems strange. The second screenshot shows the "System Volume Information" directory which I have in the root of my device. It does not show the ".kobo" directory, but, that just means you are not showing hidden or system directories. Or have connected the device before it creates this.

What is the actual issue? Is the device not working? Have you done the Kobo setup? Or is it just that you are not familiar enough with the devices to know what to look for?

Hmmm... near as I can tell, connecting my Sage, Forma and Clara HD to SUSE Tumbleweed, the exposed partition is FAT32 not NTFS. The stock image of the exposed partition is pretty much useless since you would need to remove the internal µSD card and mount it directly and then you would see 3 partitions on it.

As for what you are seeing in the root directory, the default directories in that directory have names starting with a . so you will need to unhide them (the last time I used Ubuntu, you could type CTRL-H to toggle hiding/viewing files/directories). The same works on SUSE Tumbleweed. I've attached two screen shots of toggling the view.

Oops, my bad on all that. I dug up and old windows pc and it all showed up fine. Thanks for the head sup on the hidden files, and happy new years.

10.6oz is heavy? That's less then a pound. The average hardback book is roughly 1lb 2oz.

Exactly, that's why I can't read many paper books, hardback or not. I have small very arthritic hands, and arthritis all over, which is why I am also sensitive to the number of coins in my purse. You always seem to think that everybody is like you. Luckily we are diverse.

You don't hold up a hard back book one handed to read, do you?

I've had my Libra 2 for two months now and I'm still very happy with it.

In the first week it froze like 3 times and I had one weird battery drain day. But after a manual reset everything worked fine.

The one thing that bothers me still is that Kobo changed the page numbers to change when you change fonts, or line spacing, or something like that. I would rather have a fixed number.

But after having Kindles for the last few years, it's a good change, the Kobo interface. I used to not care and like both, but I'm kind of addicted to how easy Kobo makes things now.

That means you are reading kepubs. If you are sideloading and do not want this, then use epubs.

I like the 'one screen=one page' behavior of kepubs. But isn't there a setting to use ePub page numbers on kepubs? I don't have my Kobo handy to check. But I thought that was in the reader settings.

No, the kepub format overrides it.

FTR, I hate how the page numbers change, too. I wish it were an option in kepubs.

I've found I don't need or want page numbers, percentages or time left at all. The progress bar is all I have displayed. The rest takes too much of the screen real estate, even with patching. I'd rather have the text there.

I did use page numbers on my Kindles, but there they didn't waste any space.

I don't even like the progress bar as I've squeezed the text to the edges to the point the progress bar impedes on that.

I like to have small margins. Too small for any numbers, but still visible.

Yes, I use kepubs. I don't know if it's the settings, but epubs look way worse than kepubs on my Kobo. I haven't tried an epub in a while so I don't have a screenshot ready but I remember it looking different from kepubs.

But even with the changing page numbers, I still love my Libra 2.
