So if you had an android tablet only, how would you go about converting epub to kepub as the latter apparently formats better with the Kobo. For folks without computers, conversion seems unavailable.

(am I going too off topic here...it's suppose to be about Sage impressions)
A good start to your finding the answer to the highlighted question would have been if you had actually READ my earlier post, in which I explictly said

Again, the issue of whether kpeubs format better than epub is one that is open to debate. Personally I do prefer kepub to epub in Kobo's stock reader but there are many who actually prefer epub because epubs on Kobo are rendered with support for ligatures. If ligatures matter to you, then epub may be a better bet.

I'll have to research that. Not familiar with it. Thanks for the idea.

Agree. I love the OverDrive, Pocket and Dropbox integrations on Kobo readers. That makes them truley awsome!

Thanks for reposting that Sirtel - why the OP ignored it when I linked to it initially I don't know. Perhaps an issue with conversion

As a person with handicap USB C is a blessing. I can just sort of jam the plug in there and it's fine.

Anyway, the sage is too heavy already. Doubling the weight is a big nope. 500g? I might as well read a book 😃

Exactly!

On the other hand, the extra screen real estate is REALLY proving useful for me now. Pages can display a worthwhile amount of body text AND still have footnotes that aren't microdot size

It's better than when the Sage was first released, but the devs have explained why it's worse than on Nickel. I think my Sage was losing 10-12% an hour when I first installed KOReader, probably 8-10% now. So still bad, but I can put up with it for the features I like about KOReader, like better epub handling and much better stats.

That depends a bit on how your read.... I read my books mostly in bed, laying on my side. And I prop my reader against something (generally a stuffed animal ). Try doing that with a book! I always had a very heavy arm, especially if I had to read the page on the thinnest part of the book (and I had to hold the heaviest part of the book up...)
