tl;dr: Problem identified, thanks all!

It turns out I wasn't matching the import list column for URLs to the identifier column in Calibre, and I didn't realize FFF didn't look for URLs in the metadata that weren't directly connected to the official identifier metadata box (which makes complete sense). Had to clear it and re-import after designating the URL_id column, and everything lines up now.

Hi, I am always downloading the stories from the same authors.

Is it somehow possible to automatically check if an author has a new story and then download it?

Are there maybe external scripts for that?

Subscribing/Following/Alerting those authors on the site so it sends you email notifications for updates and new stories is the best approach, IMO; that's what I do.

There was discussion at the time this was introduced in early November. It affects people with free accounts. And the workaround is to pay for an account. Otherwise, it requires someone with the skill and interest to implement a way to handle it.

Hey guys,

Something weird happened this morning and I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same issue. I've been using flaresolver in combination with FFF for a while now (latest version 2.1.0) OS Win11 and this morning I accidently closed the application (usually keep it running so I don't forget to start) and when I wanted to restart it was gone. Tried to download it again, unzip it, I get the file structure but not the application file itself. Anyone got any idea?

Windows hiding .exe files from you, or some antimalware program removing it to 'protect' you are the only ideas that come to mind.

Strange that it all of a sudden sees this as malware, but once again you are right.

- Adding plugin feature to Mark anthologies when individual story skipped. See #786

When the "Mark Matching Anthologies?" option is checked and a story URL(s) is skipped because it belongs to an existing series anthology book(s), the existing books(s) will be Marked and shown when the BG job is launched (or Proceed dialog shown if all failed).

Note that if you also use Marks to show success/fail/chapter errors, the Proceed dialog may clear the anthology marks.

Primary use case is to more easily find and update anthology books when a component story is updated.

Is it possible for you to make the option "update metadata only" a background job? The way it is now blocks the usage of Calibre while updating.

I may be remembering wrong, but I think there were technical reasons it couldn't be made a background job.

In theory, it's possible. But it would touch a significant amount of somewhat brittle code.

Between having 'Update Always' and 'Update metadata from saved column', allowing BG processing for 'Update metadata from website' hasn't been a priority.

Hey, did something happen with ff.net or google chrome while i was sleeping? It was working yesterday and now all of sudden i get "Directory does not contain a known browser cache type: 'C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache" error

There was an update on my chrome browser and the next download from ff.net failed.

error message:
Directory does not contain a known browser cache type: 'C:\Users\...

I looked at my browser_cache_path and it seems as there is a new subfolder "Cache_Data"

After adding that to my browser_cache_path in personal.ini
(to have it end with ...\User Data\Default\Cache\Cache_Data)
the download worked again.

Just fyi if someone is also having problems.

Oh thank you, i havent noticed chrome update changed that. It works now
