Changed my mind about buying the libra 2 or the Sage, buying neither... I bought my Libra 1 (h20) in May and it seems to be the best remaining standalone e-reader within my budget. More money for yarn I guess

Since I finished a book on Friday on my Forma, the husband graciously agreed to let me have my Christmas Libra 2 yesterday.

I set it up using Kobo desktop, and installed my usual patches; like both buttons go next and reduce header and footer height. I sideloaded a load of books via Calibre in epub. The thing did freeze twice, once after the initial firmware update, and once after I sideloaded a load of new books, but nothing a long press on the power button didn't fix. I have the slate blue official sleep cover.

I have to agree that the screen is lovely and sharp. Reading on it is an absolute pleasure and it is noticeabley sharper than my forma.

I am liking the ergonomics of it. It is different to the forma, and I am not used to it yet. The buttons are in a different position and the wedge side has a slight bulid up on the outside edge, not on the Forma, almost but not quite a Ridge on the outer edge. I like to read holding the wedge side in both hands at the bottom lying on my back in bed (or on a sunlounger on holiday) and when I first encountered this almost lip feature, I wasn't sure. But then it sort of fits in the side of the knuckle on my thumb as it rests on the button to turn pages and feels nice. Still getting used to it but it is not uncomfortable to hold. Just different, at the moment.

I was also worried about the weight difference, coming from a lighter reader, but so far it's fine. I would not like to go heavier, however. Buttons, which I remember being stiff on my Forma when it was new, are fine and responsive with no stiffness.

I am very much enjoying my Libra 2 so far.

If you had to choose between Forma and Libra 2 (cost being no issue), which do you prefer?

I've received a Libra 2 in White a few days ago, and I've noticed a bit of a snag:
The plastic back cover has gaps at both of the thinner edges, when I press on the case, there's a tactile and audible little click every time.
Anybody else noticed that with their device?
It's nothing major, but at 200€ I had hoped for something a bit sturdier.

That is how the device was constructed.

Dunno about that. Mine doesn't click or flex and I can't see any gaps. I have a black one.

There is a bit of space between the battery and the back case.

The Libra 2.

The screen is better and I prefer the smaller size. It takes up less room on my bedside drawers and is easier to stick in a bag and take with me. I find the smaller profile easier to hold. The usb c means I can finally get rid of the micro USB cables. I like knowing it's got a whole heap of space for me to fill with entire over long series of books about chosen one farm boys, rampaging dragons and vampire psychic wizard investigators.

The Forma is amazingly light. It has a bigger screen. I'd had it since launch and my hand and thumb are still trying to take the positions they would on a Forma. Maybe a few more weeks and I will be used to it.

Has anyone notice the colour of the white one isn't really white? Compared to the screen - which looks very white with the backlight on, the case looks slightly light greenish/minty. This is especially noticeable in afternoon sun for some reason.

This is not a complaint, just something I noticed.

I'm on the same boat. The Libra 2 seems to be a very nice reader. But not as nice as keeping my money in my pocket and using the readers I already have

Now what am I going to do with all this yarn?

I went from a Sony Reader PRS-T1 with a 6" screen to a Kobo Aura H2O with a 6.8" screen and I won't go back to a 6" screen. I like the larger screen. Now I have a Kobo Libra 2 with a 7" screen.

I like it. I like the shape and the way it feels to hold. I'm using the red Kobo case and it's pretty good. And it's not too heavy.

I do like the screen. It's nice and even and so is the light.

I'm gonna knit sweaters and stuff. Maybe crochet a pretty throw for my new couch. That's assuming that I don't change my mind again... the Christmas money is just sitting there, until I make up my mind which of my dozen or so wish list things I might use it for...

I fully understand if you prefer smaller.

Personally I would not like to have a smaller e-reader than 8". I am probably coloured by the fact that my first ever e-reader was the 8" Aura One.
