Libra 2 Kobo Libra 2's touchscreen unresponsive on the 2nd day of use

Hello! Sorry if this is not the correct post for this but...

I just recently ordered my first e-reader and went with the Kobo Libra 2, which arrived 2 days ago.

It was working great, and I even used it a couple hours ago without any problems.

But out of nowhere, when I turned it on 20 minutes ago, the screen just became unresponsive. Tapping the screen generates no output, and I can't navigate the kobo unless I long-press (4+ seconds).

I already reset the device (through the settings screen and buttons) and the problem still remains.

I searched if this was a common problem but couldn't find anyone with this problem on the Kobo Libra 2. Has anyone managed to fix it?

I had a freeze up once that I had to do a hard reset, but it did come back fine. I wondered if it was the book I was reading or a code glitch. (Anyone else ever see a system freeze when page turns are set to only swipe (no tap) and then you try tapping several times?)

If rebooting again still does not work, you can try a factory reset. If you cannot get into the settings menu to do that, you can do it manually

Maybe you should use kepub format instead of epub?

I talked to the support team and did both resets (through the settings menu and manually) and neither of them worked.

Looks like I'll have to use my warranty to get a new kobo. Hopefully the new one works.

I'm curious, was it just the one ebook that caused this freeze type behaviour, or more than one?

And were your ebooks kepubs (direct from kobo), or sideloaded from say Calibre?

It happened while reading a book that was sideloaded from Calibre. However, I uploaded them as kepubs.

However, the touchscreen not being responsive continued even after I fully reset the kobo (no books in it) and happens in every screen (e.g. on the set up screen/home screen/other random book)

What a dreadful first ereader experience, hopefully the replacement will work perfectly. And I might add for a first time ereader person you're across all the how to's and whyfores

I like to do my research before making big purchases :P

Feel like I spent 5-10+ hours watching content/browsing the forums about what one can do with the kobo before purchasing it haha.

A bit unfortunate that the replacement unit will probably take forever to arrive (Have to wait for them to receive it and then another 1-2 weeks for it to arrive).

Oh well, let's hope it's worth it.
