I've got a couple in the secure adobe format from them, and haven't had any problems (that I've noticed!). I try to go for multi format though.

Check out Fictionwise and BookOnBoard for more selections for the Sony.

Also, the wikipedia access and the dictionary are strong points for the Kindle.

I faced the same choice, and went with Sony PRS-505 with no regrets.

Enjoy!

One of the things that you can do with calibre is change the intial font size of each file you convert.

My experience has been that the large font size on my 505 is usually readable, so I don't generally bother with using calibre to change the font size unless I've decided to also use it to translate a file into epub.

But when I do convert, I chose 16 as my base font size. I haven't played around with this, but I think that the result is that all the font sizes for the document are kicked up a notch when you do this. So it should be possible for anyone to identify a useful font size set, playing off a base size established via calibre.

In addition, if you find that the largest of the three font sizes you have for a particular document on your 505 is a tad too small, you can go into landscape mode (just hold down the font button for a few seconds) & you will find that the landscape orientation shows up in a fourth, larger, font size.

I have a 505 but the best way is to put a little more money and bye a PRS-700.
Out off my face with all Amazone products including (particulary) Kindle.

I struggled with the same decision. I chose the Sony due to:
1. Sony's smaller size
2. Ease of library usage
3. Perceived better build quality
4. Local availability
5. $100 Savings (Kindle has no cover)

I was really worried about the book selection issue and the fact that the Kindle / Amazon has so many more titles available. But the fact is that the Sony reader has just as many of the books I read. I focus mainly on current fiction from mainstream authors. I have also started to actually read some classics which is great.

Pricing seems better on Amazon on some titles but if you look around you can find many good deals for Sony books as well. I have also joined the New York Public Library and will take advantage of their selection.

Good luck with you new reader. I hope you love yours as much as I love mine.
