I must say though, neither in broad daylight, with no lighting on at all, or when I do use the lighting, which is always very low, I never see fingerprints or other stuff on the screen. Occasionally I remind myself to clean the screen. Not often though

Lucky you. I notice any stuff on my screen immediately and cannot read until it's been removed. It's pretty OCD, I know, but I can't help it.

I'm not that way with my phone, funnily enough, but then I don't read books on my phone.

I also wanted to add that the brightness of the Kobo Libra 2 at maximum is not as high as I wish it would be, it is not bad but sometimes I wish it could be brighter but its at maximum already. Does anybody have this feeling too?

I try to live with it because I love the screen... Damn that screen... The light is well balanced and the text is perfectly black. Very high contrast! Plus, I migrate to koreader and it blows my mind. Beside being so easy, customisable, pdf-friendly and fast, it also has much much better kerning (which I am obsessed about).

Anyway, overall build quality (back plate, buttons, etc.) is not so good (not bad either). I think Kobo made all its investments to the screen. Obsessions about clicks, flexes leave our mind throughout the time but the screen/display quality is the best of all worlds for me.

Backplate on my Libra 2 was great when i got it, but i took Libra apart to fix squeaky next page button (which i fixed), and back plate now flexes, but it doesn't bother me as much as squeaky button did.

Yes. Amazon is a safe seller so I was prepared to wait. When I ordered it there was no estimated date. Then it said End Dec into January, then suddenly yesterday it was in stock and I got an email with a date of Monday.

I have yet to use my Libra 2's frontlight above 75%

Not at all. My Sage is dimmer than my Libra 2 and I almost never set the Sage at maximum, let alone the Libra.

Yeah, but you're also the guy who doesn't remove the screen protectors from his ereaders. So obviously you don't notice lighting issues either, unless they jump up and bite you.

Seriously though, I've had my ereaders over 50% in bright daylight many times. Almost never at 100%, though. And when I read at night in a dimly lit room, they're at 7-9.

Equally seriously, this does surprise me - taking my Sage outside in bright sunshine yesterday was the first time I've ever used a reader with the light set to zero, and I found it very clear, so much so that I'm looking forward to trying it again

In direct sunlight, yes. But I never read in direct sunlight. By bright daylight I mean the shade or indoors under a window (again, not in the path of direct sunlight).

That does look very good. Perhaps I just haven't been out when it was light enough.

I have a squeaky button on my Forma. If you wouldn't mind telling me, how did you fix your Libra 2 squeak?

Buttons are under motherboard, mine squeaked because motherboard was not sitting perfectly in the case, so i removed motherboard (connectors are coated with waterprofing solution, so if you care about waterproofing don't do it), assembled it again, and squeking stopped.
