I think CRussell was perfectly clear. This thread was created to allow MR members an easy way to keep up with updates to DEDRM. A discussion of the merits of or the discussion of different types of DEDRM should be in a separate discussion thread.
I also use this thread to keep up with updates and hate having to scroll through numerous repeats of the two sides arguing the merits of their ideas. Personally, I hate having to scroll through numerous posts that repeatedly argue back and for ad nauseam.

Hmmm, just noticed I am running the 32 bit version of Calibre. Doesn't the install process automatically detect and install the correct version, or did I download the wrong version initially?

Issue solved. The zip file I downloaded - DeDRM_tools_10.0.1.zip is not the actual install zip.

The install zip is inside the dowloaded zip. I just needed to extract it and install. All updated correctly now.

Can this new link be added to the first post?

Due to all the ethical discussions, the original link to the new fork was buried like 6-7 pages deep. Hence, when I went Apprentice Harper’s, I was confused what new release people were referring to.

It's not a successor, it's an alternative. It'll only become a successor if no one continues the work on the Apprentice Harper version.

I installed the new version, and it installed right over the top of the former.

So you can't really call it an alternative, as there is no option to install it as a new addon which would allow you to switch between the two.
