I'm not eligible yet for a booster - I'm under 65, don't have any underlying medical conditions, and don't work in a job that deals with the public. I'm counting myself lucky to have gotten Moderna since it's turned out to be the longest-lasting.

Back in the spring I drove to the next state to get vaccinated because they opened up to my age group sooner than my state. People in that area were largely uninterested so I didn't feel like I was taking someone else's chance (I know someone who lives there who tells me the vaccination rate is still low.)

It happened that the place I went was using Moderna but at that point I would have taken any of the available vaccines!

One of the "medical conditions" to qualify for the Moderna/Pfizer booster is being overweight. Not obese... just overweight. BMI > 25. I've seen several articles that estimate nearly 90% of American adults qualify for a Covid booster under the current guidelines.

According to the CDC themselves, nearly 70% of adults 20 and over are overweight. When you factor in those with high-risk jobs and other medical conditions (plus all J&J recipients), it comes to about 89% of all American adults being eligible.

Here is the situation in the “Live Free or Die” state:

• The seven-day positivity rate is at its highest ever, at close to 10%
• The local hospital announced that in one day, they admitted 34 Covid patients, 30 of them unvaxxed
• The hospital also said that the ER was at 130% of capacity and people shouldn’t come
• Hospitalization number for the state overall is at the high seen last January
• The percentage of vaxxed plateaued in June and hasn’t budged since
• From having the highest vaxxed rate early days, the state percentage is now below the national average
• The other five New England states are among the top six or seven vaxxed

What. is. wrong. with. people?

I’ll add that according to World Population Review, New Hampshire is the eighth most educated state overall.

Sounds to me like the "or" in the state motto should be changed to "and."

This. I don't have any underlying conditions other than weight. Got my booster shot last Monday. Slightly sore arm, hardly enough to notice.

Back in April, I worried, because then you had to be obese and I was right on the line between obese and overweight. But no one asked questions and I got the shot, a good thing, because my husband is high risk. He is now boosted as well.

I'll be getting my third Pfizer early next month. I'm going to see my mom for Christmas.

The guidance now states (as of Nov 19th I think) that anyone 18+ may get the additional booster if it's been 6 months for Pf/Mod or 2 months for J&J, which makes sense because a lot of places around here (mostly pharmacies) weren't exactly being strict anyway from what I've been told. As long as your timing on your shot series is good, I think most places were happy to vax those who wanted it.

My blood disorder is mostly mild and doesn't require any sort of ongoing treatment, but it does affect my blood cell production which causes chronic mild anemia and does make me a bit more likely to get sick in some cases. But my dx was in childhood so I'd be hard pressed to provide any sort of proof now. Several doctors have monitored my bloodwork over the years because of it, but none of them reconfirmed the dx.

So I'm happy for the new guidance because now I don't have to worry about whether or not I'd get the one pharmacist who insists on proof of a qualifying pre-existing condition.

I had heard mixed reports as to whether pharmacies were asking questions about availability. So depending on which pharmacy you went to, you might have gotten in. Thankfully you don't have to worry about it now!

I don't have any immune issues so I was waiting for the official OK for all adults. I've got an appointment for this weekend for my booster.

I got my "booster" on Oct. 21st some six months and 6 days after I got my 2nd shot (April 15th). I had had an appt. at my local clinic (Diabetes education) and I checked with the front desk to see when I could schedule an appt. to get the shot. Turned out they had an opening that afternoon so I just waited around for a bit longer and got it taken care of. I didn't have any feeling of illness after the booster. I did feel fatigue, nausea, have a temp and some body ache after the 2nd shot though. Between Nov. 1 and Nov. 15th this year we have had some 345 cases of the virus (that are known about) in my county. Not sure how many were/weren't vaccinated of that total. I know I am glad to have gotten the booster though. Being Diabetic and soon to turn 51 (Dec. 12th) I stand to get sick if I hadn't gotten the 1st two shots and booster.

Got my booster a few days ago. Fatigue and aches were similar to after my 2nd shot. But this time I think I may have "Covid arm" .

I am now thoroughly Moderna-ed.

I got my booster a week ago at a walk-in centre in a nearby shopping mall. I'm now a hybrid Astra-Zeneca/Moderna recipient.

…and the pop-up vaccination clinic scheduled for my town next Monday has been canceled because demand was going to be too high.
