I entered some random non alpha numeric chars without hitting return and UI became very laggy. It wasn't completely frozen so I waited a few minutes and I was able to get into sys info. Mem free 269/496 M. Load avg 46.3% 35.6% 20.2%

After reboot, I tried to trigger the lag again by putting in random chars but this time it didn't work. But entering a plain number and hitting return caused it to freeze. Rebooted. Tried random chars again, fine. Tried go-to %, fine.

Tried the calculator app. I assume you use the same input module. It was fine no matter what I put in

So I don't know what's happening here 🤔

it seems related to the input keyboard. open a book, enter some random numbers or special chars, at some point it starts to lag.

That's quite useful, the problem should be fixed in the attached binary.

ETIMEDOUT might still occur, but it won't bring the system on its knees.

I use inverted mode a lot. Could you remember and restore inverted mode on start up?

I will, but first I'd like to make use of the dedicated dark waveforms present on the Libra 2. Please try the attached binary and see if the inverted mode still behaves as expected.

No idea, we've only ever seen it happen on the Libra, the fact that it also appears to affect the Libra 2 is news to me :/.

(i.e., it's a hardware/kernel issue in my book).

I've *never* seen it happen elsewhere, unless I was explicitly trying to trip up the driver.

Hi baskerville. You mentioned that Plato ignores publisher fonts. Do you have time to take a look at a problematic KEPUB that doesn't follow my preferred font style? My font choice works on all other books.

Pm'd you the link. I also tested it with Kobo's own reader and the publisher font gets overwritten. I was stumped with Plato. Thanks a lot!

Plato ignores the embedded fonts but doesn't ignore the generic family names (serif, sans-serif, monospace, cursive, fantasy) given at the end of the font-family property. When you change the font in the toolbar it changes the font associated with the serif family name. The aforementioned document uses the sans-serif family name for the main text style.
