I do not use sleepcovers. I prefer my ereaders naked except for a sticker skin on the back to avoid the nasty fingerprints and help protrct the device when i put them down on whatever surface.

Thank you, good to know. I'll be using the kobo sleep cover when my Libra 2 arrives, as I have done with my previous kobo ereaders, and I don't turn the device off very often at all. Maybe not even once a year, and I've always seemed to have had excellent battery life. So I was curious as to your testing methodology.

I do not turn my ereaders OFF as well. They are always on sleep mode when not in use

Apparently Amazon, one of the world's richest companies, with one of the world's richest men part of it, is quibbling over the fees visa has the temerity to charge.

(I have to seriously refrain from commenting further )
Quibble away Amazon, good for you.

Does anyone know if the Libra 2 has IR sensor or normal touch layer?

It's not my fault that companies decide to let more than one device have the same name, or almost the same name. Of course Amazon is even worse with their generations of Paperwhites, Oases and just Kindles.
So, for your laziness, you are happy to create some confusion. And there are plenty of people who do not know what that there is only the two Libra-named devices. Anyone new to ereader or Kobo, would expect, from your constant references, to find a "Libra 1" out there and would have no reason think you were talking about the Libra H2O.

And of course, these posts are going to be around for a while. Somewhere in the future someone is going to search for references to the "Libra H2O" and find none of yours. Or look back for some information when the some future Libra-named device is released and then have to work out what you mean.

Sadly, no. I don't know anyone with a Forma or encountered a display unit in a store.

Take a step back and breath.
People take shortcut, rename, create acronyms… that’s life.

Libra 1 is as legitimate as Paperwhite 1 or 2 or 3 that were never named like that, but people decided to do so.

we really need to know what chemical can soften and melt that glue holding the card in the slot

BTW, I continued reading on my libra 2. Normal reading mode (not darkmode), 16 brightness level of frontlight, 1 percent drop in battery in 30 minutes.

Wifi on and bluetooth off, with nanoclock, nickelmenu, and a bunch of patches (non of which i believe affects battery life).

I can see @davidfor's point, consistency as to device nomenclature makes sense.

It's easier for people to follow the flow, without trying to work out the device in question; and it's definitely easier for search functions, and for those unfamiliar with all the variations that a device can be known by in mobileread.
I've read in these various pages about the KA1 and thought the poster must have been referring to a kindle device, and they were comparing a kindle to a kobo, but they actually referred to the Kobo aura

And as I don't have, nor was interested in the libra h2O, I had no idea it wasn't the libra 1 that was being referred to in various places. (And I still don't get why kobo named an ereader after a brand of tampons )
