Ligther weight. Longer battery life.

Two important parameters for an e-reader for me.

Ohers have also mentioned poorer naural light.

That said I like the idea that you can use a styus on Sage, but for me it is just a nice extra, and not any basic requirements. I do not take notes while reading books, even if I like the tech.

Aura One is still doing fine. If that changes I'll look at the current ones, otherwise I'll be waiting.

I used to have the Aura One and it is a great device, but I changed it for a Forma. I really prefer the Forma for the physical buttons and the better grip with the wedge. But if you have tried it, and it is not for you, keep the A1. It is a great reader!

Which "people"? We don't all have non-arthritic hands, and anyone who reads this forum with any regularity knows damn well that there are plenty of us here who find the glass-substrate devices heavy. My H2O is too heavy for me, especially because I'm not comfortable using it without a case, which adds more weight again. I've vacillated on buying a Forma, but really hoped they would fix the power button in the next revision and/or - my most fervent wish - bring out a flexible-substrate superlight 6.8 or 7 inch device. Instead they've gone ever larger and heavier, back to glass.

I recognise that it's not too heavy _for you_. Please don't pretend that that means it's just fine for everyone.

First off, I never said it was a good weight for everyone. Please don’t try and put words in my mouth.

I said those who have complained about the weight have typically not held the device. Which is going to have an affect on their ability to judge the weight. Now for those with arthritis or other disabilities I trust they can judge for themselves, and no one here can or should try and be so all inclusive in talking about a device as to limit what can be done based on the disabilities of others. Else all ereaders would be generally useless because blind people exist.

The Sage is in line with several older Kobos. So it follows that the weight should be alright for a good deal of people.

In short stop trying to make mountains out of mole hills.

Have you not considered the Libra H2O (the first one?) It's pretty light and comfortable to hold, not slippery (IMHO) and the power button is easy to use.

Of course I don't use any of my ereaders with a cover, they would all be too heavy for me then.

They'll try to convince you that weight is a useless metric for anticipating how it will subjectively feel to each individual's perceptual experience of holding the device. You simply can't know unless you've personally held it.
It's best not to use objective parameters for decision making at all because of inherent human subjectivity. Science!

And no one ever rationalizes the weaknesses of a product after they've purchased it to self-justify their decision making. We are all perfectly rational and logical at all times and any suggestion otherwise is a personal insult.

That's actually true, unless you know exactly how much is too much for you. For example, I know that over 250g might be too heavy and over 300g is certainly too heavy for me. But anything less than 300g depends on personal experience. i.e. how it feels in my hand.

As to subjectivity, all humans are subjective on all subjects. Else we would be robots. That doesn't lessen the value of learning about other people's experiences and considering how much of that is applicable to you personally.

And I haven't noticed much purchase justifying going on here on MR. Many members talk about various faults of their purchased devices and even return them. When someone is content with their purchase and mentions good things about it, that doesn't necessarily mean they justify and rationalize. What, no one can ever be satisfied with their purchase without rationalizing?

As to the independent reviewers you praise, I've noticed they tend to be much less critical of the devices they review than MR posters who buy them.

Well you're a little bit hard on yourself, aren't you the one ending up concluding the Forma and Libra 2 screen were the same quality*? I'm still waiting to hear how you ended up with such scientific conclusion after trying to dismiss my post.

It's a wonder you're still around with the disdain you have toward our community members.

I ordered the Libra 2, however I asked the CS to cancel it as I wanted a Sage since the primary reason for buying this ereader is for my Manga needs (and ePub) but now I am torn with all the reviews about how bad the device is. Should I just go for an Onyx Boox Air? I will add a couple of bucks yes but at least less issues. I don't know what to do now.
