Why would you want a screen made out of nacre? Nacre is organic and can be harmed by chemicals. It is also easily scratched. Nacre is what pearls are made of.

Mimicking the way nacre works, I think. Hard stuff in a matrix of pliable stuff so it's scratch-resistant but tough as well.

The Nacre on pearls scratch real easy and it has a pebbly texture. One quick way to tell genuine and cultured pearls from fake is to run the pearl over your front teeth. If it is smooth it is fake. If it has a gritty feel it is real.

Not actual nacre. Mimicking it. Scratch-resistant glass bound together by a pliable (polymer?) substrate.
