I have the new Libra 2, haven't tried the Sage yet as it seems a bit heavy for my taste. But interested in one feature that could suck me in.

Has anyone with a Sage tried the integration with Dropbox feature? Curious how that works. Specifically: Can you capture notes in non-Kobo/kepub books, and then store ALL notes from both Kobo and sideloaded books in your Dropbox account?

One thing I do like with the Sage is that it's more even so I'm hoping it will be easier to hold then the previous design.

I don’t know if it’s easier to hold than the Forma but I have no complaint with the Sage design. Even the weight is correct for me.

I wonder if I've been lucky. Since 2014 I've bought a Kobo Aura, two (used) Nooks, and a Forma. None of them had noticeable screen issues.

I've never returned any of my ereaders. Yep, some had uneven lighting, but I'm not particularly fussy about that. Plus I never read in complete darkness, so the lighting issues aren't terribly noticeable.

If so, it is going to be incredible to hold in my hand. I mean, the Forma was probably the most natural ereader in my hands that I have held, so the idea that the Sage could be better blows my mind.

Of course, to make the claim you are making, means that you need to have used the Forma, or even the Libra H2O, for a reasonable amount of time. Something that your posts have always suggested you have never done.

The alternative is that you are saying that the Sage is better than your currently beloved Aura H2O which you always claimed was the only ereader for you. And honestly, that's an absurd comparison as the style is just to different.

I have neither. I have owned the Libra H2O, Forma; and Kindle PW 1,2 and 4, Kindle Keyboard, Kindle Touch, Kindle Voyage and all three Oasis models and never had a dud screen.

You are lucky, doubly so as since they shipped our Sages at the same time you could have ended up with mine!

comparison libra 2/sage review

I don't remember seeing this review elsewhere and I thought it quite good on the whole
Spoiler:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKE wiU8JDWyPbzAhUQ6RoKHQAoCvwQwqsBegQIDxAB&url=https% 3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DD97H_nt9mkY& usg=AOvVaw1XENeai60edIYj_nQfrFrf

I don't agree with him about the size: 8" does make a difference. And the battery is poor even for reading epubs.

EDIT: I keep hoping that calibrating will improve the battery level readings because I noticed that the % dropped dramatically starting at about 80%, but I read for hours with it at 1%, but after 3 full cycles discharge/charge, it still does it. Last time I charged, I noted that the full charge was announced at 53 min. at the beginning, but it took 75 min. to reach 99%, and a further 50 min. to reach 100%. I'm not putting great hopes in an improvement in the next F/W as some do, because why otherwise would they have a power cover for the Sage and not the Libra 2?

Well this is strange. I've received an email notification of a refund for my Sage, but so far no instructions to send it back.

I did look at it again today and its just as horrible as it was on Friday.

I cancelled my Sage order. Almost all reviews and reddit posts say there are brighter spots on the buttons side of the screen. I had that on my libra h2o and my eyes just tell my brain always "Hey, do you see what we see?''

And i belong to the 'above 40% brightness level on ereaders' group.

FWIW, although I am returning my Sage, I think it has one of the best, and most evenly lit, screens I have ever seen (including my Kindle Voyage). That, in my book, is THE reason to get the Sage -- the superb display (and the USB-C). And I typically read at around 60% brightness. I'm returning because I didn't like the weight/balance/grip/button placement as compared to my Forma -- and without them side-by-side, the Forma display is still excellent (although admittedly with the button-side darker stripe folks have commented on over the years).
