New Kindle week; where are the reviews? - Page 3

No user guide came with the new Paperwhite and I'm embarrassed to ask how one types in a new location number in a book, in this awful "improved new menu system?" Haven't needed to do it in awhile.

Press the top of the screen. Select the three vertical lines and then Page or location. Then type in your location. The three lines is the Go To menu, with table of contents.

Argh, he keeps moving it and has a light near the video so it keeps shooting off glare. For some reason I can't hear him because it's distorted, may need to turn my speaker center up. The Paperwhite 5 is fast

Looks like that is running older firmware: it doesn’t have the redesigned quick settings. The speed is very impressive (compared to PW4 anyway).

Also I think they are wrong about manga: it very much depends on how it is formatted. I downloaded one from KU on my PW4 and it did have ‘panel’ navigation.

One of the Aa options for the manga I downloaded is Animation (on my PW4 at least it is greyed out, ‘Not Available’).

Received my PW Signature Edition.
Nothing fancy about it, I don't feel like this edition is really worth the premium. The screen is better than the PW4, but still is made of plastic. Which is a serious downgrade compared to the Oasis 3 / Voyage.
I love that the neutral white is warmer than the PW4 and performance in general seem on par with the Oasis 3.

Compared to the Libra 2: The contrast / blacks are slightly better on the Libra 2 / Sage but the performance navigating in the menu is so much better on the Paperwhite (better than the Sage too)
It's a snappy fast Kindle, good upgrade for anybody already using and loving an older Paperwhite / basic kindle.

This Kindle Paperwhite, even in its Signature Edition is not for anybody loving the premium devices like the Voyage or Oasis. For me the Oasis 3 is a better choice.

So, until Amazon upgrades / replaces the Oasis. I think I'll stick with my Voyage and make the Sage my main reader.

I received my PW5 today as well.

What surprised me is that my screen is not an even color. I didn't expect that since my PW4 is perfectly even. My new Kindle has a slightly darker/more yellow hue at the left bottom. It bothers me. I've ordered another one to see if this is better.

Other than that I absolutely love the speed on this thing!

I seem to recall you had the Oasis 3 a couple of years ago. May I ask why you replaced it with the PW4 (which IMO is inferior to the Oasis)? Just curious...

the Signature Edition maybe worth the extra cost to those who want 32GB of storage rather than 8GB.
