Calibre-Web not releasing ram usage after uploading large file via "Upload Format"

I am adding a single .mp3 file to each book manually by using the "Upload Format" link, files are up to 800MB in size.

Before the upload start, ram usage is about 100MB or less, during the upload the ram usage increases up to about 1.5GB but once the upload is done it only drops back down to about 700MB. I have left it 8hrs to see if there was any change but ram usage doesn't drop.

Pre Upload ram usage:

During upload of 770MB file:

After upload is completed:

This 'residual' ram usage accumulates between uploads so I am having to reboot after every 2-3 uploads to prevent uploads from failing due to ram usage maxing out.

Is this expected behaviour?

Is there a workaround by uploading the files to the database folder and editing the database somehow without using the web interface? I am thinking I could just manually copy the files into the folder.

Update

I think the ram usage stops accumulating at about 1.4GB of ram between uploads but only if no uploads fail.
I've uploaded 10 files now without the ram maxing out, during upload I am seeing about 2.5GB total usage and after the upload completes, usage drops down to 1.4GB again. all the files so far have been a bit smaller than usual (400-600MB).

Do you mean the builtin content server, or some other web interface? And you can upload files and perform many other operations without using the web interface at all by using calibredb command line tool which can connect to a server. https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/gen...calibredb.html
