More Kobo storage experiment
Just a test . . . :-)
I have an old Kobo AuraOne that I'm no longer using . . . so as a test I thought I'd try swapping the SD card.
There are actually 3 partitions on the card, "rootfs", "recoverfs", and "KOBOReader". At this point it seems to run completely normally. But I'm reluctant to do this with my new Libra on the theory that it won't be watertight when I'm done. This was prompted by the announcement of the new Libra approximately 24 hours after I got mine :-( Is this old news? Any comments? Thanks! Dan |

Libra storage is soldered, so you cant do this anyway.

You might want to look at Memory Upgrade Mod Guide. What you are doing is a well known practice for the Kobo devices with internal SD cards. The difference is really only in how to open the device. And I prefer Magic Memory Upgrade Mod for resizing the book partition. And for the record, there is no such device as the "Libra". There is a "Libra H2O" and now a "Libra 2". They are different devices, and not using the complete name, or at least an accurate abbreviation will only cause confusion. Yes, I am being pedantic. But, you have actually demonstrated why I am careful to use the full names of all of these devices. |

OK, so to be completely correct, the test machine is an Aura Edition 2 (not that the name is visible anywhere - had to look up "N236" to check it). It did indeed have a 4Gb SD card, and now has a 64Gb SD card.
The new one is actually a "Libra H2O" I would still be using the Aura Edition 2 if the microUSB connector was reliable :-) Dan |
