Good Mornin,

I followed this tutorial to *update* my JB. Everything worked flawlessly and I double checked everything but I cannot, for some reason get KUAL to run.

I always get this error:

Written:
"
Running install.sh . . .
Progressbar: 50%
Package script failed (127), moving
on . . .

"

Did I mess sth up?

So, I grabbed a PW4 hoping to catch one that hadn't been updated before the new model rolls out... and it shipped with 5.13.4... so am I correct in understanding that at the moment there's no way to jailbreak this? (I have faith something will be found eventually, but just wanted to be sure before calling it a day.)

@LuigiTheHunter: IIRC, that's a sign of an outdated or slightly broken JB. Try reinstalling the hotfix again, and reboot *twice* after that.

@Vaesse: Nope.

I tried that out unfortunately this does not change anything same problem. I also tried to remove the extensions folder completely because I thought old extensions might interfere this does not seem to be the problem as well...

@LuigiTheHunter: You failed to mention anything about which device this was, which FW version it was running, and which FW version you updated to (and, if at all possible, which version/revision of the JB you were actually using before).

Sorry I thought that this info is not necessary but since it does not seem to be a trivial info it seems that this is not the case any longer.

My device is the G000KA White Kindle Basic 2 (2016) KT3, KT3W I updated JB and everything to all the latest and greates from your great Snapshots page. It was and still is running the FW version: 5.11.1.1, also I did not update my FW. I will try to figure out what JB I had before but I'm unsure how to proceed with that.

Hi NiLuJe. First of all thanks a lot for posting this tutorial to teach others to jailbreak their devices. I Have two Kindle devices as follow:

Touch (serial beginning on "B011") with F.W number 5.3.7.3

and a

Hi all, I just did the Jailbreak etc. and it worked fine. I have firmware 5.12.2.1.1 on a Kindle Basic (2014).

However, now I'd like to turn off the Homescreen thing and have it go straight into the list view of my library. And that doesn't appear to be possible since the "Advanced Options" that I'm supposed to go into to change that isn't there anymore. I guess they locked it behind a firmware update?

Any ideas?

On a more positive note, does anyone have any good plugins to install after the screen saver one?

Directly on the front page, on the right side, there are the two menu options "filter" and "sort". Under the point "sort" you can switch between the list view and the cover view.

Got PW4 recently and got it jailbroken in to time.

I installed the jailbreak and the hotfix, but I can't get KUAL to show up in my library. I have a KT4 running 5.12 and 'KUAL-KDK-2.0.azw2' is in my /documents folder.

You need booklet version, KUAL coplate.

You do not need and can not use the azw2. that i a kindlet, and amazon dropped kindlet support years ago.

Just follow the instructions for KUAL coplate installation, no system update involved.

The README in the tarball say to use the azw2. I'm not trying to be stupid here, I just don't want to risk bricking my kindle.
