Wow, it's a small world. A friend of mine found a wedding invitation of Robert Rankin's in a clothing shop just recently. It was in a Victorian frock coat, I seem to recall.

I'm not even sure they are in e-format, never checked, I've got all his stuff in pbook, been a collector since Armageddon the Musical. EDIT: Just checked, looks like the only one available is Necrophenia, and it costs a ridiculous £14.67, when the hardback only costs £14.99. So if you're a Rankin fan its pbook or the darknet if you want to read him. Very sad indeed Http://www.orionbooks.co.uk/10122-1/...ert-Rankin.htm Double Edit: Necrophenia is available as an ebook from Waterstones (UK) for £10.57. Anyone got contact details for Mr Rankin? (EDIT: As it just wouldn't seem right to bother his wife over it) |

There is a contact form on Sproutlore, but I don't know if Mr. Rankin will see this at all. http://www.sproutlore.com/ | |

I am going to start a book called Red Dragon Rising, it's written by two Chinese Americans who knew quite a few things about China's Military. Basically, it's a book about the current military threat that China poses to the U.S. I don't actually have time to sit down and read it though, so I may try to locate Audio Books for it.

Yesterday I finished reading Empress by Karen Miller (got it through the $1 Orbit promo), and it was really, really good. Long, but good. Ended up buying the next two books in the series as well! And right now I'm reading Sabriel by Garth Nix, who I've heard much of but never tried before. I'm liking it, though the writing style is a bit different than I'm used to. |

I've been listening to Timeline by Crichton. Does this book go anywhere? I am about 2.5 hours into it, I think it is 12hr total... and really nothing has happened. Usually his book are much faster paced as I remember from Prey and Airframe. BOb |

I've been reading the Sherlock Holmes omnibus from MR which is excellent, but I am taking a break to read 'The Colour of Magic' by Terry Pratchett as recommended by pshrynk and zelda. They didn't warn me about the large number of books in the series however!

They converted me into a Pratchett fan also! I stopped when I got to Wyrd Sisters, but plan to read it sooner or later. I stopped because I had it in eReader, then got my Sony. Don't have time or energy to convert it, so will probably just buy it again in ePub soon. |

I remember the pbook going very quickly, but that might have been because I was desperate for a book and zoomed through it.

Finished Sabriel on the bus this morning, then started Lirael. I actually like it a little more than Sabriel, so far! It's got a magic library in it, too. :B
