Kobo ‘platform’ questions

1) is there a way to import 3rd party content to your library and have it sync between Kobo apps and devices linked to your Kobo account?

2) when you borrow something from public library on Kobo eReader, does that appear in your library and available to read with any Kobo app or device linked to your Kobo account?

3) if you have more than one public library you can borrow from, can you add them all, or do you have to choose one at a time?

Not as far as I know.

Library books borrowed on your Overdrive capable Kobo will show for all your Kobo devices. I've only tested the IOS app but it appeared there as well.

You can only add one library on your Kobo but using an app such as Libby, you can access multiple libraries.

I think the only eReader that does this ("out of the box") is PocketBook.

Tolino can do it. Though I don't know exactly what it syncs as I only have the one device.

I forgot about Tolino. You're right, it does work, I just tested it on two eReaders and with the Android App on my Pixel 2. All synced well with a book I uploaded. The only glitch is that you have to be in one of about 10 countries to register with Tolino. I think I used Tolino's street address to register (since I didn't know any other addresses in Germany). There's also the issue of not being able to login to your Cloud via a browser unless you have a VPN Proxy something or other. I had one that worked but just today Firefox disabled it for "security reasons." It figures, I hadn't used it for over 2 years — it was working yesterday because it was bugging me to upgrade. At any rate, yes Tolino Cloud does work in the U.S. but (technically) you're supposed to be in one its supported countries and you have to use a "workaround" to register for it.

PocketBook, on the other hand, doesn't have this limitation.

Not all libraries / Countries use Overdrive, the system on a Kobo for borrowing ebooks.

My library is on Calibre. I never use Sync with anything as it needs the internet, it's usually one ecosystem and often only bought content. A pair of words and search can be quicker anyway, if WiFi is normally off. Also I don't want random Firmware updates, which happens on almost all "platforms" with sync or sometimes just WiFi.
