Same here, the Sage is gonna be way too heavy for me. So I guess my next purchase is between the new Libra (similar weight to my current reader, but I really wanted to go lighter, not similar), or to look for Formas to go on a Discontinued sale.

How is the standard QC with Kobo? Do they typically run into issues with their first productions that require later revisions of changes? Wonder if a pre-order is worthwhile because the Sage ticks all my boxes for a new ereader.

Will the Stylus Pen and Power Cover come as standard? Or do I need to buy extra?
Will Stylus Pens be sold in all countries if extra is required?

You'll have to buy them separately.

As mentioned, they're sold separately. Even though this is almost certainly a revenue-generating choice by Kobo, I like that they are optional, so that those who don't need them don't pay for them. This is especially true of the Power Cover for me. The Sage is a weighty reader as is, i, and the Power Cover here is 1/4 of the price of the reader, so being able to choose between no cover, an inert cover or the Power Cover was important.

Yes, but non-Power Cover cases don't have a place to put the Stylus Pen. People who will use the Stylus Pen will have to buy the Power Cover to carry the pen with them.

Also, will the Stylus Pen and Power Case be sold separately in all countries for sure? For example, Turkey?

So far, EVERY SINGLE Kobo Store I've seen has listed them separately, from the large like the US & UK to the smaller, like Australia. Why would Turkey be any different?

Also, on the storage of the Stylus pen, there will be any number of 3rd-party no-Power cases available within hours of release, at the latest. I would be shocked if many of them did not offer a pen storage slot. Shenzhen is nothing if not quick

Looking at Kobo's Turkish site, it would appear that they are sold separately. I do wonder why you would ask that question rather than just checking the site for yourself.

Yes. Yes they do.

I do love my Kobos. But there have been grumbles on the early release devices for the Clara, Libra and Forma (I didn't pay attention to the Elipsa as I have zero interest in that device).

Dunno about that. I bought my Libra upon release and I've been very satisfied with it. It has no faults other than a slightly uneven frontlight.

The Libra was my first Kobo ever, so I cannot really say anything about Kobos in general.

I think the main problem with the early defective Libras was very uneven lighting. But poor quality control doesn't mean every unit is going to be defective or even that a high percentage will be bad. What it means is inconsistency, and that the defective units have been released without quality control testing them.

Honestly I don't think there is a lot of quality control anywhere any more. Testing each unit is expensive and it's easier to deal with the problem when your customers get defective units by replacement. As long as the percentage is small enough, the hit to your reputation remains relatively small. Especially if you use the information gleaned from the returns to upgrade your production procedures.

No, it doesn't appear. There is only one page with product information (for the Stylus Pen, for example), just like any other Kobo site. But there is no information about the Stylus Pen being sold.

Looking from Australia, I can see the Stylus Pen on https://gl.kobobooks.com/collections...ts/kobo-stylus. And all the ereaders are listed. But, I don't see a price or ordering buttons. Does Kobo sell these directly through their store in Turkey, or is only through some local vendor? But, everything I see on the pages I can access make it look like the Sage, the Stylus Pen and covers will be sold separately as they are in other countries.

Beyond that, you would need to contact Kobo directly. We are just looking at pages and are outside the country in question. They might not be showing us the full details. And we don't know how it is normally done in there.

I plan to get a sleeve with a front pocket for the Sage. That's what I've usually done for ereaders and tablets; I don't like covers. I already have a stylus from the Elipsa.
