I currently have four, which is utterly silly.
My daily reader is a Boox Poke 2 - it is possibly the worst screen of the 4 but the Calibre Companion app makes it so easy to keep its library up to date. I have an original Kobo H20, which still works perfectly but, after sticking with it for over a year I realised I disliked the larger screen. (It has slight cosmetic damage so I never tried to sell it.) After trying 6" readers from Tolino and Pocketbook (both of which I managed to sell after a while), I bought a Clara HD. This reader has always worked perfectly but my Macbook had a USB problem which kept leading to database corruptions when trying to load books with Calibre. Thus, I bought the Poke 2 as a way of avoiding USB transfer, (I have recently ditched Apple, so the Clara is a reliable option again but my partner now has her eye on it for the rare occasion she can bring herself to read an e- not a paper book), Finally, I have a second-hand Kindle Voyage. I bought this hoping to be able to jailbreak it, but found I couldn't. It has the best screen quality of them all and I love the page turn buttons (one of the Pocketbook features I did like), but I really dislike the Kindle reading software (I am a sensible margins, page numbers and chapters kind of guy - estimated reading times I find hopeless). The above ramble was to seek to justify my profligacy, but it really doesn't. |

I have a Kobo Clara and a Nook Glowlight Plus (2015, 6" version) that I switch back and forth about equally. I also have an old Nook STwGlowlight that I keep charged and still load books on, though I very rarely read on it.
There's also a Sony 505 sitting around somewhere. I didn't count that as someone gave it to me, I never really used it and I'm pretty sure the battery is dead. Counting the better half, there's a Glowlight 3 and another STwG. |

Way too many! I went a little nuts with the Sonys and I really should get rid of most of them.
Sony T1, T2, T3 950, 900, 700, 600 350 (3 of these) Nook HD, HD+ Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight Kobo Mini, Kobo Libra Kindle Paperwhite (won in a contest) Samsung Galaxy Tab A ( I rarely read on my tablet) I was using the T2 and T3 mostly until I got the Kobo Libra a few months ago. Now I'm in love with the Libra and seriously should get rid of most of the rest of the collection. |

I have 4 e-ink readers but more prefer tablets for reading. Got the the e-ink because of the claims on this forum on how much "better the e-ink" is for reading.
1. boyne(?) 67 don't use as too small. 2. boyne(?) mars OK but too slow. 3. kobo aura one le put away as it is a piece of junk & flaky 4. kindle oasis 2 for taking to the doctor, dentist, etc while waiting. 5. Nook original 1st batch don't use & in storage after a reset wish I did the change of OS for linux when it was available. I'm thinking that the poll is referring to 'ereaders' as e-ink? or anything used for reading which may include desktops?? |

I have several different Kindle devices including my Kindle Fire 10 HD. Mostly I use the KF device at present.

I have the Kobo Libra H2O, which I use for English reading. I read library books, kobo daily deals, and sideloaded religious books I can't get through the kobo store. If I REALLY can't get a book I want through those channels, I buy from the kindle store and deDRM it for reading on my kobo.
I use my Paperwhite 3 for Japanese reading - easier dictionary look up, translation function, and I already own a dozen or so Japanese kindle books. However, I really don't like Kindle's software as there are no page turns left in chapter, which my kobo has. (Japanese books also do not come with print page numbers :/) I really wish I could downsize to one device, but it doesn't seem to be likely, especially as I'd like to keep away from Amazon as much as possible ![]() Last edited by spacepope; 10-11-2021 at 08:18 AM. |

It seems to me that there are two questions here: How many readers do you own? and, How many readers are in active use? Speaking personally, it’s not as interesting to hear about the inhabitants of people’s gadget graveyards; I’d rather find out the use justification for active devices! How high can people go?

Yes. My main e-reader is the Kobo Libra H20. I still have a Kobo Clara HD as a backup. I pre-ordered the Kobo Libra 2 so I will have yet another one. LOL Will probably sell or give away one of the others when I get the Kobo Libra 2.

![]() It's not impossible I'm going to add the 4th, the Kobo Sage, to this growing pile. I may have to seriously think about selling/giving away one of the older ones then. The Nook or the Libra (not the Oasis, as it's my only device with global search at the moment). But I'm not yet sure about that. The Libra is my most lightweight reader, and I'd be sorry to give up the Nook, even though I use my other readers more. Tough decisions to make. Very tough. ![]() |

Actually I will use either one if I'm home in the daytime. The old Sonys are kept as backups just in case. |

I asked, so I’ll answer.
I (just barely) have a use case for my five Kobos. I admit I was a little embarrassed by the number, but then comforted myself that we’re talking geriatric devices here; my newest is coming up on five years old. In order of purchase:

![]() ![]() ![]() Get thee behind me, Satan! In truth, IF I stumbled across the Forma at an attractive closeout price, I’d be mightily tempted. But my sense is that Kobo hasn’t gone that route in the last few devices. I already checked Chapters (Can.) which will ship to the US and they’re sold out online as it is, and that’s without a closeout price. |

I never sell old devices, so I have all my old readers still in the house somewhere, but I only use the Kobo Aura One.

Have three (Sony PRS650, Kobo Glo HD, Kindle PW3) and generally… use none. I should sell them. Read on iPhone and iPad.
