Base 12 and Base 60 are superior to Base 10. Both are better when it comes to fractions since both have many composite factors that allows you to represent more fractions with a numeric point without repeating numbers.

In base 60, of course, it's a simple 0.b.

Base 60 notation is a simple extension of hexadecimal - just ignoring the letter I and so using 0..9a..zA..Z to give the required 60 symbols!
