span & div removal plugin in Calibre Editor

Is there a way to run it against ALL the html files without opening them in Editor tabs? Some ebooks are very large. |

In Sigil I use the Tag Mechanic plugin. As I remember it's also available for calibre. It lets you remove them or replace them. Likewise with spans and some other tags. Its deletion and replacement functions aren't as useful as I'd like because you're limited to a built-in set of tags you can replace and replace with.

I have a Plug-in in the Calibre Editor, but the ebook is maybe 1000 files? It seems to only process the open files, not all the files. Ben Franklin's Harvard Classics + a bunch of other books making a 52 MiByte file! I've fixed a lot of garbage in the CSS and it then combined a bunch. But it seems to use a load of pointless extra divs and spans. It seems to have been created by someone with an enthusiasm to exactly duplicate a print experience using Sigil. Not Sigil's fault! Probably I'd have been better off collecting all the titles of gutenberg myself |

There is and I have it. But I couldn't figure how to choose what to click on on the TOC list or how it might regard multiple files as one book. Maybe you only split off one book at a time.

I do have Sigil also, but only played with it once. I decided I didn't need to edit HTML and CSS for ebooks I make (I use LO Writer styles that map well to CSS). I've only used the Calibre editor for awful ebooks.

AFAIK That does the whole book if not ticked I have never tested (AKA used) on books over 2M, so there may be a limit. Why not ask Diap(dealer)? | |

The plugin I do use a lot in the editor is Diaps Editing Toolbag. It's very good for what you want and it can be run against all HTML in one go without loading all the HTML in separate tabs.

Which plugin? The only one I can think of is the one @JSWolf mentioned, "Diaps Editing Toolbag". I have used that many times to clean out or change unnecessary divs and spans across the full bool. It does has an option to only do the current file. You can turn that off from the menu for the pluigin.

OK, I didn't have the icon, just the item on plug in menu. When I added the icon to the tool bar I was able to change it from current file to book.
