AFAIK version history has never been used as the source for the current version number.

In the long ago past I think the version number was sourced from the index itself, but that went by the board long before I got involved. As a result the version numbers that were in the Index were waaaaay out of date - which was one of the motivators for reducing the Index to what it is now.

I'm surprised Updater issues with these kobo PIs have taken almost 9 months to surface.

Go to Preferences > Plugins. Search for KoboTouchExtended (no spaces). Select it and click Customize Plugin. Then look in the Collections, covers & uploads tab.

That must have been an old version of calibre. I added that option to the driver long enough ago that I have no idea what version it was. But, it would be three or four years ago.

Hello! I've checked the "Do not treat replacements as new books." in Kobo Touch Extended but the story updates don't reflect on my Kobo H2O when I update the fic. Is there something I've overlooked?

If you are making changes to the epub structure, table of contents, etc., that option will prevent those changes being reflected in the database. It's only useful if you are making minor corrections (typos, etc.) that do not change the structure.

Did you use Kobo Utilities to update the ToC like I mentioned in the FFF thread? I ran into the same issue as seen in the thread linked in post above (which was posted before KU added that feature).

I did, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the plugins... and finally after being frustrated, I unchecked the "Do not treat replacements as new books" and that was the one that worked!

I don't know why that worked though...

It worked because it was supposed to work. But, you would lose reading status, annotations and collections. With it set it was probably working as well, but, the table of contents was not being updated. And you keep the reading status, annotations and collections. The instructions @ownedbycats posted in the FFF thread were for.

My Kobo froze when I was transferring, I waited for half an hour before resetting and now I'm getting this when I connect to Calibre.
