Monkey spit coffee. One friend of mine who a bit of a coffee fanatic purchased a 300 gm package of coffee beans that, supposedly, had been chewed up and spit out by Rhesus monkeys. Sadly, while it wasn't a bad cup of coffee, it was, IMHO, nothing that would tempt me to spend $80 Cdn for 300 gms of beans.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know they had their own ABC - but not surprised. The ABC near Fearrington also has an extensive and varied selection.

There's apparently also animal rights issues in some cases because they sometimes cage the civet "cats" and force feed them coffee cherries.
