				Rendering math equations

Hello I figured out how to embed math equations in Calibre (using mathjax and latex). They look beautiful when using the Calibre previewer however when I save the file as an .epub and view it in the Kindle previewer, it just shows the latex code instead of the actual equation. I have a very long document (650+ pages) and it would take me forever to change all the equations to .png's. Is there a workaround?

Amazon's Kindle platform has limited support for MathML (see here), but it is not actually implemented in a way that makes it usable in published books since it only works with Enhanced Typesetting and there is no fallback. MathJax and LaTeX are unsupported.

At this point the only real workable solution for equations on Kindle is as images. Last edited by jhowell; 08-30-2021 at 10:56 PM. |
