fbgrab feature request:

Arguments to specify a start x, start y, width, and height to grab.

Prefer arbitrary, but aligned OK if it makes it possible or even easier.

(I don't really intend on touching FBGrab all that much, but if someone wants to drop a not-too-horrible patch in my lap, the cropping shenanigans for the Kobo quirks should mostly cover this

Is that an offer or a hint?

If it's an offer, I'm not the least bit picky what's on the inside or what it's called as long as it's reasonably light on resource requirements and not slow.

If it's a hint, it's beyond what I can handle on several fronts.

It's possible that [Python 2.7 & Python 3.9 | kindle-python-0.15.N-r18509.tar.xz] may no longer be working on Kindle Paperwhite 4, however the screensaver hack still works perfectly, at least on default settings.

I had a hard time restoring kual and screensaver after amazon’s last update. So something is going on.

Do check the MRPI log, I don't always validate the Python 2 install (because, hello, it's Python 2 -_-"), so it's entirely possible something stopped supporting Python 2 in the distribution.

You ought to have noticed by the giant "failure" exclamation mark on screen during the install, though.

It's more specifically you feeding it the *wrong* package altogether

.

There's a K5 one in the Snapshots, but you're using the legacy K4 one, and it's mercifully stopping that in its tracks.

SN: G0011L
Problem:

I have installed the latest hotfix. Then updated to 5.13.7 and restored the jailbreak. But when I put the hotfix file into the root directory and eject my kindle, I found a window on my kindle says 'Update Error'.

Other extentions such as KUAL, linkss, usbnet are just fine after restoring.

@zivilyn: Perfectly normal so far.

The hotfix hasn't been rebuilt for 5.13.7 yet (and won't be for a while).

You shouldn't actually need to run the hotfix anyway, especially if you've done your JB in the last couple of years or so. Just reboot the device once or twice after the update.

(Assuming they didn't break it. YMMV, here be dragons, etc.).
