Yes, I open my Kobo Glo HD, get the sd card and i flash it with the image that you sent me.
When starting setup, the wifi connect correctly but after "Searching updates" appear me a windows showing "An error has occurred please try again". When I start the setup choosing the option to use PC, appear me a windows that say "Go to kobosetup.com ". I download Rakuten Kobo from Kobo Setup but I can't do the setup. I think the usb connection is correct because when I connect to the reader to my PC appear "Connected and charging". But I can't do the setup in Rakuten Kobo I don't know why.

Any solutions ?????

I am thinking updating the firmware opening .img in my PC.

Anyone know another way to change the firmware (my PC don't recognise the ebook)??

Could someone make an image of a recent version of KOBO GLO HD?? To solve my problem I need a recent image of the system, could someone make one with USB Image Tool in Windows and send me an email with the .img file??

@exum The message on the Kobo connected and charging just means that the Kobo senses that the usb cable is connected to a host; not that the host has recognized the Kobo as a device.

What type of USB port are you connected to on the PC?

@PeterT im using micro-usb to usb 3.0.

I can’t connect my kobo glo hd to kobo rakuten app y i dont know why.

There is one of the problems. Its very common to see connection issues with a Kobo attached to a USB 3.0 port. Either attach to a USB 2 port, or connect a USB 2 hub to the USB 3 port and connect the Kobo to the hub.

If you are getting to the point where the WiFi is downloading the setup, that means the device booted, prompted you a couple of times and then connected to WiFi. It is not likely to be an image problem. But, it could be something left on the image from the previous use. Or not perfectly setup for your device. That is why I suggested doing a factory reset. That will clean everything up and start from scratch.

You can try adding the firmware update to the card directly, but, that needs something to trigger the install. And that needs a connect to the PC. What you are doing, will probably trigger this when you unplug the device, but, I'm not completely sure.

For the USB connection, as @PeterT said, there are issues with some USB3 ports on some machines. Using a USB2 port or a hub usually solves this.

Ciao a tutti!
Mi sono appena iscritto , sono possessore da piu di 5 anni del kobo glo, ora a smesso di funzionare.
La scheda SD del mio Kobo glo n613 credo fortemente che sia rovinata, ho letto molti thread e mi sono fatto questa convinzione perchè all'accensione lo schermo lampeggia due volte poi rimane spento.
ho provato l' hard reset , nulla da fare, led blu poi rosso per un istante poi verde e a seguire doppio lampeggio dello schemo e basta.
Vi chiedo se qualcuno cortesemente può inviarmi l'immagine da masterizzare sulla microsd.
Grazie in anticipo a chi mi vorrà aiutare.

Hello everybody!
I have just registered, I have been the owner of the kobo glo for more than 5 years, now it has stopped working.

I strongly believe that the SD card of my Kobo glo n613 is ruined, I have read many threads and I have this conviction because when turned on the screen flashes twice then remains off.

I tried the hard reset, nothing to do, blue led then red for a moment then green and then double flash of the screen and that's it.

I ask you if someone can kindly send me the image to burn on the microsd.

Thanks in advance to those who want to help me.
