Yesterday was a very bad day. After a few very hot, sunny day, we had a front move through with strong thunderstorms. In a corridor stretching roughly from Trenton, NJ, to Philadelphia, PA, and east to the Atlantic we had 14 tornado warnings. Two have been confirmed and a few more are being checked out. When I grew up in NJ tornadoes were virtually unheard of.

[EDIT: As of tonight there were seven confirmed tornadoes on Thursday.]

Today was the complete opposite, as often happens. The high temperature for the say was 82°F and the sky was a mix of sun and fast moving clouds. The humidity was very low, it was very breezy, and it almost felt like autumn.

Hottest day of the year today - I registered 101 F this afternoon. It was too hot & humid this morning for a walk.

Got up to 97 F today. Less humidity, but still stifling outside.

I get emergency alerts from Alamance County because it is one of the places where I go to court. I am literally envious of the number of thunderstorm alerts they had this week. Here's hoping for us today.

The high temperature today was 73°F. It was cloudy with light rain on and off all day. We should start experiencing August weather in a day or two.

The confirmed tornado count for last Thursday is now at seven.

91 F but much less humid - able to walk outside today. Showers/storms tomorrow and then a week of abnormally low temps (80's F)

About 31° but the humidity is high so it feels a couple of degrees warmer. The weather people are promising rain for the weekend.

The last couple of days have been typical Dutch summer weather; some rain, some sun, occasionally a bit windy. The average daytime temperature for this time of year is 23C and it's been a bit cooler than normal these days 20-21C. Which is fine with me. It looks like we're keeping this weather until at least the weekend.

Gorgeous weather - very low humidity, breezy, temps in the 70's and low 80's F -- in August! We'll pay for it, but it sure is nice to be able to open the windows.

Spoke too soon -- humidity returned this afternoon -- 72% right now.

Starting this evening or Friday is the third time we've been promised rain in the last 45 days. Waiting to see if the weather people deliver on their promises this time. The people fighting wild fires could do with a good drenching rain.
