And this answer is a cheek!
I help very well with this statement!

I have and use devices like this - but this device would be pretty much the last thing I can recommend with a clear conscience.
Because this device is not particularly well suited for the purpose in terms of hardware - 1 GB RAM is very modest and not using Wacom is not a recommendation - it just has to be cheap!

But I've now realized that Kobo fans defend every garbage produced there.

Which is good. Because you should never recommend a device that you have not used. At the most, you should say whether something might work for the person who is asking about a device. Honestly, until a few people actually use these devices for purposes other than reviews, we have no idea how good or bad they are.

In that case, exactly what do you think the purpose of this device is? And why is Wacom the only way to go for pen type touch?

Whereas you just pile shit upon it without any real justification.

And before you claim that this is proof that Kobo fans "defend every garbage produced there", please point out exactly where I have suggested anyone should get the Elipsa. Or where I have told someone that the only device to get is a Kobo.

There are other good touch pen techs like Apple's Pencil and Microsoft's N-trig. Kobo's is active capactive which is generally not the best in accuracy, requires a AAAA battery and can only be replaced by another one from the manufacturer. It's the cheapest way to add pen tech and doesn't require a special screen layer.

Wacom EMR is desirable because unlike others it doesn't use a battery so there's no charging and no hunting for AAAA batteries when it dies. It's also pretty accurate and you can easily use a pen designed for one Wacom EMR device on another like the Samsung S-pen on a Boox device or vice versa and there is a selection of 3rd party Wacom pens like the Lamy, Staeldler etc.

Well, you scolded me for advising against this device.

And my opinion on Kobo: I have a lot of devices from different brands - 3 of them are defective; only Kobos, 3 out of 5.
I also have a lot of covers: all 3 of Kobo's horrific coatings are peeling off.

Tolin was excellent while Deutsche Telekom was in charge - once Kobo took over, the problems started; first with the changeover to Android 4.4.2, where Kobo was not able to carry out a correct update and was not able to take over the screen refresh in the operating system.

Are you surprised by my view of this brand?
Personally, I hardly know anything worse.

Horrible. Why you are allowed to disrupt this forum in this way, I will never understand. I see your name and my heart sinks. [snip personal abuse].

What I don't get is why with so many Kobo users on Mobileread that your concerns/issues/problems with Kobo are unique to yourself. If they were common problems, then I would expect to see others posting about these issues. But I don't. So why is it these things are only happening to you?

Nor I. Ad hominem insults, allegedly all delivered via Google Translate, would seem to be the sum of it. Very sad.

I use this mode on my Libra. I love it, but the only font that gives me readable text at size 2 is Malabar. This is a nice font, luckily.

I would love to be able to read in this mode at larger fonts, and with Kepubs as well. (I have used KO reader, but prefer the inbuilt software).

I've discovered that KO Reader allows the 2-column display at MUCH larger fonts than does the stock Nickel, at least on my Libra.

No, I scolded you for pouring shit on a device that you have no experience with. And honestly, no one has any real experience with.

And I have eight Kobo devices. The oldest has a battery that does not hold charge. Not surprising as it is over nine years old. One has dead LED after well over two years of usage. The others all work fine.

I also bought five or six for other relatives. One had a broken screen because something was dropped on it. One other has a dead battery after lots of years of use.

I don't know what you are doing to break them, but, my experience is different to yours.

And based on the various covers I have used, the non-Kobo are just as bad as the Kobo. None survive two years of being shoved in my backpack going to and from work. But, none of the Kobo ones have stopped closing and triggering sleep.

So, being bought out by Kobo made the same developers dumb.

Honestly, if you don't think a product is good, then you should say so. But, you are not just saying you do not like Kobo, you are insulting people because they have a different opinion. And you are judging a product

But, how about you actually answer the questions I asked. You picked just one bit and didn't attempt to answer the technical part. Can't you defend your claims?
