New thing going on with my Show 5. The daytime clock on my chosen photo just gave me a white clock over a black background. Eventually my photo came back after I said "Echo go to the home page" three times. Same thing when I checked later on. I don't look at it much, but when I do, I want to see the clock and outdoor temperature over my ocean photo.

Mine does the same thing when I use one of my photos for the background. Every few minutes the screen dims all the way to total black for a second or so then goes back to showing the clock transposed over the photo. Occasionally though it stops using the photo completely for a while using one of its included background designs instead, but after a few minutes it usually returns to using my photo for the background. Since the Show 5 sits right beside my recliner, I see what it is doing out of my peripheral vision, and it is constantly trying to change the screen. All Tips and notifications are turned off. It just has screwed up firmware I guess. Now that the 2nd gen has been released, I guess there is no way Amazon will ever try to fix the 1st gen.

Does any know of a good discount deal for Amazon Music Unlimited? The subscription we got with a device purchase expires this weekend, and while my kids do seem to like it, I'm not sure it's worth the $80/year regular price. These little inexpensive subscriptions start to add up if you don't keep an eye on them....

I read on Tom's Guide that Amazon Prime Day will supposedly be in late May or June this year rather than July, but it hasn't been officially announced by Amazon yet.

Prime Day 2021 could be closer than you think. During its Q1 earnings call, Amazon announced that Prime Day would take place in the second quarter of 2021. That means Prime Day 2021 could happen in late May or sometime in June. While there's no official date, that means we're just a few weeks out from the first batch of Prime Day deals.

As yet, Amazon hasn’t announced a specific date for this year’s Prime Day. In an 8-K filing with the SEC, though, it did say the event would take place sometime before the end of the second quarter. That would put it before the end of June – and if it follows the pattern of the past couple of years, it will be a multi-day event.

You might want to wait until then to see if they offer a good deal on Amazon Music Unlimited. If the kids can't wait and bug you to death over it, maybe get a month subscription now then buy the annual subscription if they offer a good deal on it.

According to this Bloomberg article, Amazon Prime Days 2021 will be on June 21 and 22.

Amazon.com Inc.’s Prime Day sale will be held June 21 and 22, according to records reviewed by Bloomberg News and a person familiar with the matter, as the company tries to get its big summer sale back on schedule after postponing it last year due to the pandemic.

Amazon notified employees about the dates and asked them to keep the information confidential until an official announcement in the coming days, according to the records. The company didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

I haven't used it as a 2 way intercom, but I do occasionally use it for announcements and,I haven't encountered any problems.

I’ve never heard of Sidewalk Day, but it seems like social media likes to create a name for every darn day on the calendar. It certainly isn’t an officially recognized day AFAIK.

I believe DNSB was referring to Amazon Sidewalk going live in the US effective June 8th.
