I did a search for "bumpy" and "lumpy". All I found was a couple of reviews that complained the Boox Note display was bumpy in places. From what I read, this was not complaining about the display module but the front layer being bumpy. There were also complaints that when the Boox Note was unpacked, there were scratches on the display.

The only problem I've run into with my Elipsa order is that I forgot to apply PERKOPOLIS at checkout. 🙄 That's $40 I'm working with Kobo to get back. LOL

I'll miss the Comfortlight PRO. I liked your list. I think many here are disappointed because they aren't the target market for the Elipsa. They were waiting for the successor to the Forma. For what the Elipsa is, however, I'm looking forward to manga reading, epub editing, and more real world notebook like notes when I'm reading.

Calibre support for the Elipsa
For anyone who gets an Elipsa early, I have just checked in the changes for calibre to recognise the Elipsa. This is adding the device ids and other code so that calibre will see it and attempt to use it. This will be in the next calibre release. Or, for anyone that gets an Elipsa before then, you can run calibre from source to test.
But, I don't know the firmware version or database version that will be on the device. This means that calibre will almost definitely display the new firmware warning when an Elipsa is connected. I have been told that there are no changes in the firmware that will affect how calibre sees Kobo ereaders. It should be safe to use the "Attempt to support newer firmware" option in the driver. Disclaimer: I do not have an Elipsa to test with. The details have come from a reliable source. I have done the best I can to not introduce any errors, but, until someone plugs an Elipsa in while running this code, I can't be completely sure. |

@ral67: I can confirm than Fnac FR is happily listing 'em as available on the 18th (online, at least); while Kobo FR does say on the 24th. o_O.

But the screens are different and when you say 8" screen, you mean Mobious. And when you are talking eInk screens, you do not round.
If I said my H2O has a 7" screen, others would think I have a Libra H2O and not an Aura H2O with a 6.8". |

Was this posted here already? I remembered goodereader promised in their review a separate in-depth look at note taking but that never showed up on their blog. It was posted in the youtube channel:

I was seriously disappointed by that video. Somebody really needs to do one where they show the notebooks exported to a PC to see how they look in the different export options. (As well as marked up PDFs).
